I absolutely adore this recipe! It is so simple to make and so beautiful, that the little ones love it ... if you see the face that they get when this beauty arrives at the table ... they will be amazed! East puff pastry tree filled with chocolate creamBesides being a delicious recipe, it is one of the most attractive. For these days of vacation for children, it is a very cool plan to do it with them. They love being involved in the kitchen and then seeing the incredible result when it comes out of the oven. And then, add the final touch with icing sugar, so that it looks like it has snowed. A great plan, without a doubt!

It is very very easy to do. You only need two squared puff pastry sheets and a delicious chocolate cream that we will prepare at home in our thermomix. But if you want to make it easier or you don't have time to make it at home, you can directly buy a bottle of Nutella and fill it, which will also be delicious.

Ingredients

Chocolate cream

  • 100 g of whipping cream (35% fat)
  • 100 g of chocolate fondant for desserts (50% cocoa) in pieces
  • 50 g butter at room temperature (in pieces)

Mounting

  • 2 slices of fresh rectangular puff pastry
  • 1 egg white (optional)
  • icing sugar for dusting

Preparation

  1. Chocolate cream

    We put the cream in the glass and heat 2 minutes, 90 °, speed 1.

  2. Add the chocolate and butter and mix 2 minutes, speed 2. We put the chocolate cream in a bowl and reserve in the refrigerator for 30-40 minutes.

  3. Mounting

    We preheat the oven to 180º.

    Unroll the two sheets of puff pastry, leaving it on the wrapping paper (it will serve to bake it there).

     

  4. We spread the dough with the chocolate cream that we had reserved in the fridge (or if you want you can do it with nutella directly) and cover it with the other sheet of puff pastry.

  5. With a sharp knife or a pizza cutting wheel, we cut the dough into a fir tree shape: first form the trunk at the base and then make cuts every 2 cm, parallel to the base without reaching the center.

    Then we are going to turn 2-3 times as if rolling those cuts that we have made as if they were the branches of the tree.

  6. We place the tree with the paper directly on a baking tray, brush it with the egg white and bake it for 20-30 minutes at 180º.

  7. When it comes out of the oven, sprinkle the edges with the icing sugar and serve. Delicious!
