French toast with orange syrup

French toast with orange syrup

Haven't you made French toast yet? Well, you are still on time. Today we bring you some French toast with a different touch: delicious French toast with orange syrup. Once we have the torrijas ready, instead of coating them in sugar and cinnamon, we are going to wash them with a syrup that we prepare with honey and orange juice. You can use natural orange juice or brick juice, no problem.

You can choose how to make them: if fried or steamed in the varoma (A great option if you want to reduce the amount of fat a little). In this case, I have opted for the traditional 100% style and we have fried them in sunflower oil.

I take this opportunity to invite you to read before preparing a torrijas special item that we prepared last year where you will be able to know all the tips and tricks so that you perfect torrijas.

We will also use a special torrijas loaf of bread They are sold these days in any supermarket and are very good for making French toast because they have a soft crust, a crumb that supports soaking very well and a fairly regular size. But of course, any loaf of bread that has a relatively compact crumb is going to serve you phenomenally (a classic loaf is perfect).

With these amounts you will have about 8-10 torrijas. I like to cut them chubby so that the bite is juicier, but of course you can make them according to your tastes or customs.
