On weekends I love to do rice, because the best thing about rice is to eat it at the moment. And it is that with the thermomix, the rice comes out unique. Today I went to the market and I saw some delicious shrimp on offer, so the decision was easy: honeyed rice with prawns. And first, we have taken a cauliflower cream, how good it feels with this cold.

I have used prawns, but you can use prawns if you want or if they are better priced. The important thing is that you buy them raw because we want to take advantage of the shells to make a smoked

      Hello! The amounts can be kept the same, but add 100 ml more of broth. However, I suggest that you follow the manufacturer's instructions, because it may depend on the variety of brown rice you have purchased.       Hello Paloma, precisely to avoid what you say, that sometimes you go to the market and they are huge or tiny, what I do is calculate the number of pieces per person according to their size. In my case, as they were large with 4 per person we had to spare, keep in mind that the main dish is rice, not prawns. I hope I have helped you 🙂 So if they are medium I would put 6 per person and if they are small 8 per person, although if you ask for prawns, they are generally quite large. You'll tell me how!

          How was Paloma? Anyway, if you see that the stock is too concentrated, you can add more water until it is to your liking and freeze it in glass jars. This way you will have stock already prepared to make other rice dishes or fish soups. A hug!

            The truth is that it was fabulous, one of the best rice dishes I have ever tasted. A little scarce for 5 people, I think that next time I will increase the quantities since the TM5 glass is larger than that of the TM31, which is for the Thermomix that the recipe was designed, so we can repeat! 😉

    I have the thermomix for 6 months and I can say that to date the best recipe I have cooked. A great success as well as easy and fast. I already have extra frozen stock to take even less time next time.

    Hello, thank you very much for your blog. In the recipe it says to add "the bodies of 8 prawns" and to crush. Are they prawns or is it a misprint and we grind 8 prawns out of the 16. My question comes because it doesn't put prawns in the ingredients. Greetings.

    Hello!!. I don't know how many times I've made this recipe but we can't get enough of it. Its wonderful!!. My children say that it is the best rice they have ever eaten and that many have tried because I love doing it on weekends.
    Just a doubt, in the ingredients you put that it uses 750 gr of water but when preparing the stock, you indicate 900 gr. When I do it, no broth evaporates and I get exactly the same weight that I put in. Which of the two quantities are correct? I do it with 750 to make the flavor more concentrated and sometimes with 900 to add more rice but I always had the doubt.

    Of course, it is very short for four people and see that two are children ... or is it that we love it and we are left wanting to repeat, hehe.

Well, the broth that you mention is why it is lost during evaporation and in the straining of the broth, but it may be that it does not evaporate as much. My advice is to throw it all out. In fact, it is a good point so I am going to modify the text right now following your instructions. You can add more quantity and cook for 5 or 6 servings if 4 falls short. You would have to increase the amount of rice and broth, but the cooking time of the rice would be the same, okay? You'll tell me how are you !!

    I have done it twice and it is pasty. I don't know why, with a good taste, but pasty, not soupy. By excess broth?

      Hello Jm, this rice is honeyed, therefore the consistency will not be soupy but creamier. Anyway, if you like it lighter in consistency, you will only have to add 200 g of broth more during cooking. Thanks for following us!
