Fried tomato

easy recipe thermomix fried tomato

Since I discovered it simple, fast and clean what is to make fried tomato with my Thermomix® I have never fried it in a pan again. So I forget about the splashes all over the glass and having to be turning it over so that it takes consistency and does not burn.

This recipe is an ideal basic to always have prepared. Large quantity can be made and freeze in portions. Thus, we can use it later in recipes that call for crushed tomato, without having to program the frying time, saving a few minutes in preparation.

I also like to prepare fried tomato in this way so natural since they usually add artificial colors and preservatives to those bought. This way I know what I am eating and giving to my family.

At home we use it a lot as an accompaniment to rice, pasta, meat, fish and vegetables. In addition it is suitable for allergic to gluten, egg and lactose.

Maybe it's a very silly question ... but hey, here I go! haha You can use natural tomato and crush it in the thermomix, right ??? My father-in-law has a vegetable garden and makes fried tomato, but it has pieces and seeds, and we don't like it. With this it is similar to the one purchased?

    1.    valmite said

Yes, the other day I made them with tomato tomato from the palaces and I was very good.
Crush it more and the same process.
Try it and you will see

    2.    Silvia said

Jessi, you can shred it and it looks like the one you bought. Try and tell us.

Delicious!! I've been doing it lately and it's a pleasure, especially because you know it's 100% natural, but really! I also like to add onion, garlic and some basil leaves to give it a more Italian touch.

    Kisses!

Thanks for the suggestion Irene, I'll give it a try.

Does the fried tomato come out well fried? does not come out watery? Is the time that you put enough? Thank you

    1.    Silvia said

It comes out well fried and if you want you can add a few more minutes and it is thicker without problem.

WHAT A GOOD IDEA, SINCE MY FATHER HAS A GARDEN AND WE ARE ON TOMATOES UNTIL THE BUNCH, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH, THIS IF WE TAKE IT IN A GLASS JAR AND WE BOIL IT IN THE MARIA BATHROOM SAFE THAT WE WILL BE ABLE TO KEEP IT ALL YEAR, RIGHT?

    1.    Silvia said

Surely yes and they will be great !!!

I do not boil the cans to preserve them. As soon as the tomato sauce is ready, I pour it into the glass jars and close them tightly, using a cloth because they are very hot. Then I turn them upside down and forget about them. The next day or 2 days I already save them. I can assure you that they are hermetically sealed, with their POF !! when opening. I even have to use a device to open them or the help of my husband or my son, who are stronger than me. Of course, take boats that close well. I hope it helps you, since it ends right away and it is not necessary to spend the work or the heat of boiling them. All the best.

        1.    Silvia said

Thank you Begoña, for your suggestion, we will do so. All the best

Hello, how are you? When you say canned tomato, you mean the one sold in a canned crushed natural and with the thermomix model 21 it is the same and if we add onion it has to be fried before or all together thanks …………………….

    1.    Silvia said

Yes, I mean that tomato and if you add onion, sauté a little before.

I take advantage and cook eggs in the varoma while the tomato is fried. Either you wash them or wrap them in cling film. When about 20 minutes have passed, you remove them and put the basket upside down so it doesn't splash.

    1.    Silvia said

I'm with you, the fried tomato is an ideal recipe to take advantage of the varoma in turn !!!

I was already fed up every summer of making canned tomato, with suffocating heat and time that is running out ... and suddenly you put this recipe on me..I'm saved! the other day I made two jars and now I'm ready to make more ... thank you very much ... I wanted to ask you if you have any such wonderful recipe that you have to make a blackberry cake for my children that yesterday we were on a picnic and we took a few, I would like to combine it with cream, either with sponge cake plates or any advice that you give me ... thank you very much and greetings

    1.    Silvia said

Paula, I'm glad the tomato recipe was good for you. As a cake with blackberries, I would make the cake wonder and garnish it with the blackberries on top.

If I use natural tomatoes, do I put them with skin and seeds?

    1.    Silvia said

You can do it, but it is true that later you can find some nugget and I do not know if you will like it.

  15.   ellen said

    Hello
I am a bit fishy with the thermomix although I use it often. What I do not use are the accessories, I would like you to explain to me what to put the basket since I do not understand it. thanks greetings

    1.    Silvia said

Elena, when you want a recipe to evaporate the liquid it has and come out thicker, we remove the beaker. But if it is something that splashes like tomato or jams, we put the basket on top of the lid when removing the glass and thus the splashes stay there and do not stain the entire kitchen.

  16.   ELO said

I just made it in the thermomix and it is great. I have put red pepper and green pepper and a little oregano. The bad thing is the loaf of bread that you eat while getting wet hehehehehehe.

    1.    Silvia said

I think so, something so good you can't resist dipping your bread. I'm glad you like it.

  17.   Marilo said

I have loved it, the taste is delicious, only that with a kilo of tomato it comes out very little, I did it and then add rice so I had to add a little water and the taste diminished a little, I would like to know what I could do to Don't let this happen to me again, we really like rice with tomato, but not so thick. Greetings and thanks for the recipes.

    1.    Silvia said

Try 300 gr more of tomato, because if we put more it might come off. You see trying.

  18.   carmen said

It has to be tasty, but can this fried tomato be made and frozen? Thanks!!!!

    1.    Virtues said

Hello Mari Carmen, in my house we have a vegetable garden and tomato excesses, my mother prepares some of them in a vacuum and another part she makes in fried tomato and she freezes it and very well ...

Delicious fried tomato. We have made it with crushed canned tomatoes from Mercadona. A couple of questions:
1st If we use natural tomato they can be put without peeling.
2nd There is a trick to clean the glass well. It stuck to the bottom a bit and we had a lot of work with the sponge to remove the stains.
    Thank you

  20.   Jose Sanchez said

The one in the basket is so that it evaporates and does not splash

I made tomato from the garden and I did not come out very pale and very liquid when frying it, I do not know if I open it I do well

    1.    Irene Arcas said

Hello Nieves, depending on the brand of crushed tomato you use, it may have more or less liquid. That is why I recommend that if you see that you have had too much liquid, you reprogram it for another 5-10 minutes.

I want to make fried tomatoes with the tomatoes from my garden for the first time and I would like to know what time and speed I need to grind, then I will follow Silvia's recipe. I have the latest Thermomix model. Thanks

    1.    Mayra Fernandez Joglar said

Why don't you try making the sauce first and mashing last? So you can see if you need to shred or not. Anyway it depends a bit on the amount of tomatoes you are going to make but I would put 30 seconds, speed 5.

I leave you several different recipes to Silvia in case they can inspire you:
      Thick tomato sauce
Italian-style tomato sauce (suco de pomodoro)

      Regards!!

I have put it 30 minutes instead of 35 and it has burned. This recipe is not correct.

    1.    Irene Arcas said

Hello Francisco, how strange, we have been making this recipe for years with great results. Did you put 1 kg of crushed tomato? Sometimes if we reduce the quantity we must also reduce the time. Thanks for writing to us!

  26.   JOSE F. said

I have read comments that say that if it is very liquid or with a lot of water, I suppose it will be due to the type of tomato, if it is a salad type it will have a lot of water. I have made the recipe as it is with a very ripe pear-type tomato and it has come out ideal, better than the artisan-type can that is worth a paste.

    1.    Irene Arcas said

Thank you very much Jose F. for your message, we are very glad that you liked the recipe. The truth is that it is delicious 🙂 thanks for following us!! A hug!!
