As you can see in the photograph, the appearance could not be more appetizing. We can use the fish we have at home to make it. I used hake y salmon. But if we do not have we can use others in the same amount.

The result is a creamy cake that we can eat served in portions or spread on toast that we can accompany with pink sauce o Mayonnaise.

It looks very good, but could you change the cream for another ingredient with less calories? Thank you

    1.    Jorge Mendez said

Of course! You can use evaporated milk perfectly.

I have cooked it for guests and it has not turned out as expected.
It has lacked consistency and I have followed all the steps.
It looked like pate without being able to be sliced.

Could you substitute the surimi for something else or increase the quantity of fish to substitute it? If so ... in what quantity?
    Thank you

    1.    Mayra Fernandez Joglar said

Yes, yes ... of course you can substitute more fish.
      6 sticks equal 100 grams.
The rest of the recipe all the same.

Instead of cream, could you use evaporated milk? Would it stay with the same texture?

    1.    Mayra Fernandez Joglar said

      Hello Monica:
You will not have the same texture because evaporated milk is more liquid than cream.
If you want to make the change for a matter of calories, I advise you to use a light cooking cream. Or even a vegan version.
Another solution is to add less amount of evaporated milk until you get a smooth but dense texture so that the cake does not fall apart.
      Hope these solutions help you.
