Light lentil stew

One of my favorite dishes is lentils, so much so that I eat them practically at any time of the year.

Now many people are dieting, to try to make up for the excesses of Christmas, but with this cold, this type of stew is very appetizing.

So today I bring you an adaptation of the classic lentils but in its light version. I hope you like them and that you keep them present throughout the year because it is a very complete and necessary food.

With these amounts you have for 4 people, but if you have enough freeze phenomenal and you can also put them in the glass and turn them into puree ... delicious!

Hi Irene… ummm, what does these lentils look like !!! They look a lot like the ones I made in the pot before I had the thermomix… so I'll copy it for sure. On Monday I will get to work with them, it is that in my house they are the ones I like the most.
A kiss and keep it up pretty….

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this recipe, the lentils in the book are delicious, but they have always seemed a bit strong to me, these are great.

Thank you very much Cicerone, the truth is that this way we can take in fewer calories and make them softer. It is a matter of adapting them to our tastes: we want them stronger, because we add a bone of ham and chorrizo or blood sausage (or both). We want them softer because more vegetables and more spices to give them flavor. That easy!

Hello Irene!., Yesterday I made the lentils., And they seemed very good in flavor ..., which came out a little watery ..., next time I will try to put a little less water ...!., Thank you very much !!!

    1.    Irene Thermorecetas said

Hello Maite, I suppose that depends on the brand and type of lentils you use, so my advice is to add less water because if it is thick, we can always add water later. And, on the contrary, if we are very liquid we can remove the potatoes and put them on a plate with a little of the broth. We mash it all together and we integrate it back into the lentils and let it boil without the beaker for a few minutes until it thickens.

If it still does not thicken, we have the most drastic option which is to remove all the lentils from the glass to another container, then add a few (like a ladle) and grind them for 30 seconds at progressive speed 5-7-10. Then we add the rest of the lentils and we program it for 2 minutes, varoma temperature, so that when they boil they thicken.

The good news is that for this dish, there is always a great solution. Lucky!

how delicious !!! I never make lentils because I am lazy and I do not give them the point ... since I am giving the thermomix cane I am delighted !!! they taste great !! I have added a little more cumin to it (I have lost my hand .. lol) and they taste delicious, and how it didn't have spinach I have added a zucchini and ñan ñan !! It is 11 in the morning and I would eat a great banana! LOL
Thank you and a thousand thanks !!!

But what a joy to read your comment Rebbe. I'm so glad you did so well. It is a shame not to make lentils ... with how delicious they are !! And the cumin thing ... they are so good ... that nothing happens to overdo it, I add it to a lot of dishes, even to the fried egg !. And the adaptation of the zucchini, spectacular, that's how Rebe is done! A big kiss and thanks for writing us.

Hello Mmar, it must be because of the type of potatoes. If you want the next time, put it whole and inside the basket, you will see how it does not fall apart. Lucky! You will tell me. Thanks for writing us and for following us.

I just made this recipe, I really liked the only downside is that the potatoes have not disappeared hehe. But it's great. A question because the vinegar thing, he had never done before. Thank you.

    1.    Irene Arcas said

Hi Mararia, I'm glad you liked it! As for the potatoes, it is because the variety you added was very tender and perhaps you cut it into pieces too small to be boiling for 45 minutes. Next time, add the whole potatoes if they are small or if they are very large, cut them in half. If you want to put it in pieces you must put them halfway through cooking.

Vinegar is personal taste. My mother, who is Andalusian, has always added vinegar to them, and, for me, it gives them a unique touch. But of course it is optional.
