Pastry cream with cream and mascarpone

This custard cream enriched it is ideal for preparing desserts. Today we will serve it with some macerated strawberries but I can tell you in advance that it is perfect as a filling for cakes.

It is even richer than the traditional pastry cream because it also has whipped cream and mascarpone cheese.

In this case I have served it with some macerated strawberries. To prepare them I have only chopped them, I have added a little sugar, lemon juice and some basil leaves. I covered them with film and let them rest in the fridge. After a few hours (the time it took for the cream to cool down) they were ready.

Remember this recipe when you have to prepare the filling for a pie. Both for its flavor and its texture, it is perfect.
