Potato cream with prawns in Thermomix

We are going to elaborate a potato and chickpea cream valid for any occasion. We can prepare it for a dinner or normal lunch and also as a starter for a day of celebration. If you want to serve it as a starter, use small bowls, like the ones in the photo. You will have eight or ten servings.

We have made a video with all the steps of the recipe. In it we also show you a very simple trick to serve the cream and avoid unpleasant droplets on the edges of bowls or plates. Do not miss it.

On the cream we have put some prawns cooked in the varoma and a few pieces of crackers. You can substitute them for toasted bread or even fried bread.

Potato and chickpea cream with prawns

Ingredients

  • 70 g of onion in pieces
  • 30 g of extra virgin olive oil
  • 500 g potato, peeled and cut into pieces
  • 240 g canned chickpeas or cooked chickpeas
  • 350 g of water or broth
  • 8 g of salt
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 200 g frozen, skinless prawns
  • Crackers, toast ...

Preparation

  1. We put the onion in the glass. We program 8 seconds, speed 5. We lower with the spatula what has remained on the walls of the glass.

  2. Add the olive oil and program 3 minutes, 120º, speed 1.

  3. Add the potatoes, chickpeas, water or broth, salt and curry. We program 25 minutes, 100º, speed 1.

  4. We place the prawns in the varoma container. We put the lid on it and we put it in assumption. We program 5 minutes, 100º, speed 1.

  5. We remove the varoma and reserve it.

  6. We put the goblet. We crush the cream by programming 20 seconds, speed 8.

  7. We put a little cream in each bowl. On the cream we put some prawns and some pieces of bread (crackers, toast ...)

  8. If we want, we end up putting a drizzle of olive oil in each bowl and that's it.

Notes

If you want to prepare it in advance, once done, cover the surface with film (making it touch the cream). This will prevent a dry layer from forming on the surface. It is kept in the refrigerator.
