Chocolate nougat with hazelnuts

Thermomix Christmas recipe Chocolate nougat with hazelnuts

This year I have proposed make at home all nougat of these parties. Many will say: "total with how easy it is to put a few nougat tablets in the car and the little time it takes from you ..." well yes and they will be right but I can not compare it with making something homemade at home with all the care and effort in surprising our people and knowing that you are giving them the essence of Christmas without any colorants or preservatives.

I love walking into the supermarket and taking a few seconds of my time to look for all the ingredients I need to surprise them with different tablets. That if hazelnuts, that if almonds, that if coconut, that if pistachios ... in short, that I go crazy and for lack of time to dedicate myself to my princesses and to work I cannot elaborate more, otherwise it would take me the whole market.

This nougat is very simpleIt can be made with two chocolates, as I did or just using fondant. It is very simple to do and with this amount you have for two tablets.

You need some 21 x 10 x 3cm wooden boxes. I had some that my friend Concha gave me, they were made of nougat that they gave her husband in the Christmas basket and she kept them for me because she knew that since I liked making them, they would be good for me.

Another idea if you do not have these boxes is to make one with a milk carton, wash it well and cut it in half from top to bottom and thus we have something similar to the measurements of a box of nougat.

Good morning Silvia, another recipe for the diet hahaha 😉
Can I put more milk chocolate than fondant? My children like it less strong in flavor.
    Thanks for your help

    1.    Silvia said

Natalia, I think so but I have not tried. Even so, it does not taste very strong with both of them, my daughters have taken it great, so if you do not do it only with fondant because that way it comes out very strong.
Greetings and you will tell me.

    I do this for sure.
Thank you for making cooking seem so easy, especially for those of us who don't like to cook.
I can also make it from almonds, right?

    1.    Silvia said

Pepi you can make it from almonds or walnuts or pistachios. They come out delicious. I have also made the pistachio one and we loved it.
      All the best

In the mold should we put butter or oil so that it does not stick?

        1.    Virtues said

Hello amaia, it is always advisable to grease the molds, even those made of silicola that spoil with use. so that it does not cost to unmold.

A friend has told me that roasted corn is also delicious, although it seems strange!
Another that is very good is white chocolate mixed with wafers.

    1.    Silvia said

Montse, thank you very much for your contributions, what good ideas, the one with white chocolate is sure to encourage me because my husband is only made with white chocolate, so I think that will surprise him. Thank you!!

    Hola!
I love your nougat, they are fantastic !!! My father really likes toasted egg yolk nougat. Would you have the recipe? Thanks. And since they have some diabetes, the less sugar they carry the better. Greetings.

    1.    Silvia said

Maria, the truth is that right now I do not have a recipe for egg yolk nougat but I will try to find it, if I don't arrive in time for these holidays even for next Christmas but in my house especially my mother also likes it a lot, so I have what to do with her. All the best

and how long do we have the chocolate? speed 56-10 but until when? in what state does the chocolate have to be? fully powdered?

        1.    Virtues said

Hello amaia, if you notice it says that 30 seconds, and it has to be like dust, or very small pieces ...

  7.   Carmen said

Hello Elena! I would like to make this nougat with walnuts and my question is, do you have to weed the walnuts or is it not necessary? Regards.

    1.    Elena said

Hello Carmen, it is not necessary, the parts in four pieces each and it will be delicious. All the best.

Instead of butter, can I put butter or sunflower oil in the chocolate nougat?

    1.    Elena said

Hello Immaculate, the recipe is with butter and it is the best way to go, but if you don't have it or can't find it, you can substitute it with sunflower oil. I hope you like it.
      Greetings and Merry Christmas!.

Thanks Silvia for the recipe for nougat on stone, it will be a surprise for my husband who says that I am not able to make nougat in the thermomix, then I'll tell you how it turned out.

    1.    Silvia said

I hope you will succeed, although there is more than one friend who comments that when they break it, it falls apart and it is because they crushed the almonds for a long time and they release a lot of oil. You will tell me.
      Greetings and Happy 2011 !!

Hello girls, I would very much like to make this recipe but I try not to put animal fat in my kitchen. What could I put that was not lard? Surely you give me your greetings, you are fantastic. A kiss from Tenerife.

    1.    Silvia said

Mila, I haven't tried it but they say that there are people who make it with sunflower oil instead.

Hello Silvia, I would very much like to make the nougat this year that we always celebrate in my house. And in order not to fail at anything, I want to go testing from now on ... totally sure that the nougats will fall on a weekend heh heh heh. The question is: where can I get the butter? I have seen in the previous comments that they put sunflower oil ... does it stay the same? and if you put the oil ... is it the same amount?
thanks and sorry for the questions ... but I'm still a novice at this.

    1.    Silvia said

Sandra, you can buy lard in any supermarket like mercadona, carrefour, alcampo, hipercor, you save more.
I advise you to butter with the oil I have not tried.

      All the best

Hello, the first thing to say is that I recently discovered your page. and I really like it, I have already made some of your recipes, thank you. My question is how long do you make the nougats in advance and how long do they last made, since I have some lunches and dinners on those days and I would like to take some nougat made by me and look good. Thank you.

    1.    Virtues said

Hello Teresa, it is preferable to make nougats continuously because they have to curdle, and they usually last a long time.

  13.   Estrella said

A friend gave it to me to try and it really is great, thank you for your recipes and Merry Christmas.

  14.   Eve said

the raw nuts, it is the first time that I make the nougat, thanks

    1.    Virtues said

Hello Eva, preferably raw, because if they are prepared they are usually salty.

  15.   Eve said

how long to let it cool?

    1.    Virtues said

Hello eve, the time to let it cool depends on where you put it, the ambient temperature you have in your house, etc ... if you prefer, do it overnight.

  16.   Eve said

raw nuts? and how long to let cool?

    1.    Virtues said

Hello Eva, I have already answered you in the other messages you sent us.

I'm excited !!! I have made three types of nougat for my mother-in-law and my mother, since these days we divide half of a few days with some and the other half with others (we try it, when I have time I will have to continue practicing others ) I have made it from white chocolate and crunchy mixed, and chocolate with walnuts and almonds (because I didn't find hazelnuts). The almonds I have put them whole. I have only tried the one with white cuttlefish and it is exquisite. I just saw a comment on white cuttlefish with waffle, great idea! I would like to make the coconut one, the three chocolates and the white chocolate with waffle. An uncle of my husband says to make a really big mold !!! It's that we have a sweet tooth for both my husband's family and mine. Tomorrow we will test them !!!! What original recipes, really, it's incredible. I lack time !!!! CONGRATULATIONS AND… HAPPY YEAR 2012 !!!

It is very good but it is better to add more milk chocolate and less foundant chocolate because it is true that it is a bit strong

    Hello Silvia
I greet you from Mexico. I will be very grateful if you tell me which is the chocolate fondant. In my country there is dark or bitter chocolate, semi-bitter, milk and white. I sense that the fondant has to be bitter or semi-bitter, which is the most used in confectionery but I prefer to ask before starting. Thank you and I have loved this site!

    1.    Irene Thermorecetas said

Hello Ale, here we use a special Nestlé brand chocolate for confectionery that melts better and its taste is a bit semi-bitter and is called «fondant chocolate». I hope you find it.
