Mandarin sorbet

REceta thermomix mandarin sorbet

This mandarin sorbet is a Christmas classic. As soon as the time comes when mandarins are sweet, I always buy a few kilos and I encourage myself with my little ones to peel them and make ½ kilo packages for freeze them.

During the week we do not eat at home but on the weekends my husband and I love to enjoy after a meal. ice cream or sorbet. So, this weekend he touched tangerine sorbet.

How rich it comes out! As always it drove us crazy. Also something cool suits us very well, helps us digestion better. Also in a couple of minutes it is ready to drink.

I recommend you freeze the fruit to prepare any sorbet as well you don't need ice and you enjoy all the flavor of the fruit one hundred percent.

Best for freezing fruit is to freeze the segments or the pieces separately on a tray and once frozen we can put them in a bag. It is important not to put them in the bag directly because they will freeze forming a block and our sorbet will not be good.

The only thing the sorbets with the fruit already frozen are lemons, sugar and a little water.

Delicious !!! I also have frozen mandarins for any unforeseen visit, since it is done in a moment and it looks great!

    1.    Silvia said

Yes Jessie, "far-sighted woman is worth two" that's what my grandmother used to tell me. I always have some frozen fruit, just yesterday I made one for my husband of melon. We love!

A good idea to freeze fruit, I did it with strawberries since I live in Valencia and my father has an orchard so he plants and when there is strawberry, it is not when you go to buy there is strawberry to give and give away but the mandarin and orange are not It had occurred to me and what fruit can be frozen too? happy 2011

    1.    Elena said

Hello Chelo, I have also frozen pineapple, watermelon and melon. The rest of the fruits I do not know how they will be. Greetings and Happy 2011!

My husband is diabetic and I would like to know the equivalence of sugar in relation to saccharin, fructose, etc., to be able to make these delicious sorbets, desserts, etc. thanks and greetings

    1.    Pillar said

If your husband is diabetic he cannot take fructose, fructose is made up of two glucose molecules, any other sweetener works for you, saccharin, aspartame, acetylsulfame, in tablets or in liquid, I know what I am talking about because I am a nurse and I dedicate myself to the education of diabetics for years

      1.    Elena said

Thank you very much for the information, Pilar. I take note of when someone asks us. Greetings and Happy Holidays!.

    2.    Maria Carmen Marin said

the equivalence of sugar and saccharin is: 100g of sugar = 10g of powdered saccharin, although I always add a little less.

      1.    Maria Carmen Marin said

Mª José do it like this and you will see how your husband loves it, after the first time, it depends on the sweetness, you add or take away to your liking. I hope I've been helpful.

      2.    Elena said

Thank you very much for the clarification, Mª. Carmen. So I already know in case you ask us. Greetings and Happy Holidays!.

    3.    Elena said

Hello Mª. José, you know that this depends on the taste, but the general thing is that 1/10 of the sweetener is added to the amount of sugar. The truth is that it is difficult to say the exact amount because it depends on how sweet we like things. Greetings and Happy Holidays!.

Good evening, I wanted to ask you, in the case of adding saccharin or spartan, do you have to pulverize it like sugar?
Thanks, as always, and happy holidays to everyone.

    1.    Elena said

Hello Blanca, the saccharin is already pulverized but I like to do it in case there are any lumps and thus we make sure that it is perfect for the sorbet. Greetings and Happy Holidays!.

  12.   Caty lillo said

That looks good! But I think I'm going to make a small variation .. I want to exarle cava .. would it be 100gr instead of water or could I put something else? And if I did it with ice, how much would I have to put? Thank you very much, you are fantastic !

    1.    Silvia said

Put it with all the ingredients, put about 200 gr and as you see you can add a little more, but always pay attention to how the texture remains, to avoid it being too liquid.
      Happy New Year.

    A little kiss.

    1.    Silvia said

You are sure to love this great one. A greeting and to tell us.

      1.    silvia said

First congratulate you on your recipes that are great.
I wanted to comment that the mandarin sorbet was spectacular, only that when I ate it, the tangerine skins were very noticeable. Could it be that I did not crush it too much ??. Greetings and thank you

        1.    silvia said

I do not know if I have explained myself well, obviously I peeled the mandarins, I mean the skin that covers the segments.
          A greeting.

          1.    Silvia said

Crush it much longer and with an egg white the texture is ideal and the skin of the segment is less noticeable.
            All the best

        2.    Silvia said

Silvia, they are a bit noticeable although we like it but my mother grinds it much more and adds an egg white. So it has an ideal texture.

  16.   silvia said

Thank you very much for answering so quickly. I will try it again, in fact I already have more frozen mandarins.
    A greeting.

    1.    Silvia said

  20.   Ana said

Hi Silvia, I have a question and I add the invert sugar for this side, I can put it on her please tell me how I do it, thank you

    1.    Silvia said

Ana, I don't know how it will be. I have never used it with sorbets, I use it with ice cream. Well, what sugar does is help while it is in the freezer so that it does not crystallize and has a creamy texture. However, the sorbet is made with frozen fruit or with ice and is consumed immediately. It is not necessary to add the invert sugar.

  21.   My Jesus said

Hello, I have discovered your blog and I love it! Today the sorbet has been a success. Keep it up girls !!!!

to make a creamy cream, what should be done? Esq I do not understand what of k does not put time and that?

    1.    Silvia said

You just have to crush it, and it comes out creamier if you add an egg white. You do not put time because it depends on the size of the segments and how frozen they are, that sometimes you need half a minute more or less.

Silvia I leave you my new email address is uchirubi@gmail.com

Hello everyone, this summer I bought the Thermomix, I will only say that I am one more in blessing the hour in which I have made such a decision. I am still in the experimental phase, but I am delighted. I was raved about Swiss buns but I can't find the recipe. Can someone tell me one? Thank you so much for everything.

    1.    Virtues said

Hello M. Carmen. I have also been with her for practically a short time, and with what I like to do new things, it is also the best investment I have been able to make. We take note of your request.

  27.   Wilfred said

For people who want to try it: fruits that have seeds, skin or threads, are NOT WELL made for sorbet, you have to squeeze them first and freeze the juice.

    1.    Irene Arcas said

Thanks for your recommendation Wilfred, we will give it a try !!

    2.    Anna said

Hello!! Can you make the sorbet with only juice?

      1.    Irene Arcas said

Hello Anna, I do not recommend it because it would not be so thick as it did not have the mandarin segments ... thank you for writing us!

  28.   Reme said

For the mandarin sorbet when you say add the frozen tangerines, the lemon as well and the tangerines with skin, thank you

    1.    Ascen Jimenez said

      Hi Reme,
Both mandarins and lemon are skinless and seedless and it is important that the lemon does not have the white part that surrounds it either. The only thing that is added frozen are the mandarins, the rest is not necessary.
You will tell us if you like it.
      Kisses, ascen

  29.   Tere said
