Hake Cake

Sometimes preparing dinner is very lazy. You arrive tired from a long day, you don't feel like cooking anything, you don't know what to do for dinner ... the family is also listless or doesn't give ideas.

I like it, if I have time, prepare dinner in advance.  So when it's time for dinner, I just have to warm up or put the finishing touches on it.

And this is one of those recipes with basic ingredients that we can make in a jiffy.  You just have to put it in the oven and that's it ... And the best of all is that the whole family likes it.

Its main ingredient is hake, a White fish, low in fat and caloric content. Which provides minerals such as potassium, phosphorus and magnesium. What it is ideal for children, that it is difficult to make them eat fish, and although this recipe contains cream and cheese, it makes it more attractive for them.

Oh! How cool is it like a quiche without the dough, I have to try this myself.
It should also be delicious with flaked cod or not?
    What a good idea Virtues

Hello Joaquin, I'm glad you like it, regarding putting crumbled acalao, it is a good idea. It would be a matter of trying it, if you make the change tell me, how it turned out.

  2.   carmen said

I like it, I like Virtues a lot, also it doesn't take any time, as Joaquin says I'm going to try it with cod because I think hake has less flavor. One thing I don't like cheese, does it taste a lot? Could you substitute another ingredient for it?

    1.    Virtues said

Hello Carmen, yesterday, instead of adding creamy cheese, I added about four small cheeses to the farmhouse, and it was also very good. My husband does not like cheese and this type of recipes if he likes it, I think it does not taste much like cheese, it would be a matter of trying it, since I could not tell you why another type of ingredient can be substituted.

Hello compi of recipes, I join the group to put cod lol I think I will like it more. I take good note, I'll tell you how it is.

    1.    Virtues said

hahaha, overwhelming majority, hahaha, well try cod, and tell us, I think this recipe can accept the changes that we see fit for the type of ingredients we use at home.
In mine it is that the cod is not a saint of our devotion, and although it falls apart, with the little one, I do not want to spend the night giving it water, hahaha.
      Try and tell me

Hello, great recipe, I think that with salmon it would also be good, right? And it occurs to me that this recipe could also take advantage of the fish that we have left, what do you think of the idea? Greetings

    1.    Virtues said

Hello M. Carmen, changing an ingredient is a pleasure for the consumer, hahaha, there is the grace.
and taking advantage of the fish is phenomenal. that's what I did this weekend. I prepared a rescue broth and with the fish, I crumbled it and for the cake. What if I recommend if the fish is not raw, reduce the baking time a little.

CONGRATULATIONS FOR YOUR BLOC, IT HELPS ME A LOT TO NOT REPEAT MEALS

    1.    Virtues said

Hello YUrena, what joy your words. And having a child who likes fish is a blessing so so that he does not get tired it is good to put this guy on recipes, so that they see that fish can be very tasty.
When you try cod, it counts.

I have followed you for a long time. Almost a year. I love you and I recommend you to everyone. I am making this recipe right now. The first thing to welcome you Virtues, I hope you continue to post many rich recipes. This one looks very good although I confess that it is the first time that I have ventured to make a fish cake and I am afraid of how the result will be. I hope you all like it. I'll tell you. Thank you!!

    1.    Virtues said

Hello Carolina, thank you for following us and thank you for your welcome.
I have to confess that this was also my first fish cake, my hubby is not very given to this type of food and especially fish, however this recipe is rare the week that I do not make it.
I hope you like it, and I hope you tell us how it was ...

      1.    Carolina said

It has been a great success. It has been perfect and my husband loved it. My son and I have eaten it making an effort because it costs us a lot to try new things, but thanks to you I am getting it, so I will repeat it for sure. Thanks Virtues, and by the way, although I have been following you for so long, this was the first comment I made. Now that I know how to write here, I will comment more often, hehehe. Kisses!!

        1.    Virtues said

Carolina, I am very happy. You will see how little by little you will get the taste to do new things. I understand that it costs you to try new things, my husband is the same, the poor man is getting used to it, due to resignation, 🙂
You have to take it in the following way, that if we do not try new things we are missing a lot of things.
And regarding the comments, continue like this, we are happy to know what you think and that you are there.

Hello Virtues: I love cooking and I have had the thermomix for a long time but I have to say that I have not taken much advantage of it. Now is when I'm doing more things with her. It has not been clear to me if the fish is raw or cooked in some way, for example cooked. I hope you answer me and thank you very much for so many delicious recipes. My name is lola

        1.    Irene Arcas said

Hello Lola, since the hake is shredded and then baked for 30 minutes, it is not necessary to cook it beforehand, as it would be excessively dry. Thank you very much for writing to us Lola and for following our recipes. Although Virtues no longer collaborates in Thermorecetas, the rest of the team encourages you to get the most out of your machine and to continue leaving us comments. We are here for whatever you need. A hug!

  15.   Fany said

    Hello virtues,
I just made the recipe and my question is that if it can be removed from the mold, I have put it in a silicone apple pie mold and now I have it in the oven.
    he looks buuuueeeeniiiiisssssssiiiimaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa,
    Thank you for the recipe.

    1.    Virtues said

Hello Fany, the truth is that I could not tell you, it gives me the impression that it does not, even sometimes the water it has depends on the fish, (frozen, etc.) when cooking it releases some liquid.
I do it in a pyrex glass container, and it goes well, of course, directly to the plate.
You will tell me…. I do it tomorrow, once a week it is safe in my house ...

  16.   Fany said

    Hello virtues,

If it is perfectly removed from the mold, and it is also luxurious, I add the oil and the parsley that is put at the end with a little garlic, all crushed with the blender and it leaves a great flavor, please, you will tell me. .

    A success.

    1.    Virtues said

Hello Fany, today I have given the final touch that you recommend us, and great….

HELLO MY QUESTION IS CAN I CRUNCH THE HAKE IN THE TMX AND THEN BOOK IT? AT WHAT SPEED AND HOW LONG? THANK YOU

    1.    Virtues said

Hello Clara, I recommend that you make it by hand because of the thorns ..., also when chopping it with the tmx, you can have a mass.
