Bizcoflan in the varoma

Thermomix bizcoflan desserts recipe in varoma.

The biscuit was one of my first attempts at making dessert when my mother bought the Thermomix®. If I tell you the truth, I put it in the oven water bath and I didn't get it to curdle me. Not always everything looks right the first time!

A few days ago I saw the recipe in a magazine again and the experience came to my mind. I always had the bug so I decided to prepare it… And I don't regret it!

This time, I had better luck and I can say very loudly that it curdled me, maybe even too much. Nothing would have happened if the part of the cake a little less would have been done.

The truth is that these types of flans with two layers They are delicious, especially when the candy it is soaking the cake. There is no one who can resist!

Hello, how are you? I want to ask you where you buy the mold to put inside the varoma because I see in the photo that it is quite large I have the thermomix 21 I do not know if the varoma is the same measure with the thermo 31 thank you ………………

    1.    Silvia said

The molds I buy in any supermarket are the disposable ones of the albal brand of 1 liter capacity and they also enter the varoma of the tm-21, I think you can do everything the same.

  2.   Sandra Iglesias said

ah another question is the same with the thermomix 21 thanks ………………… ..

    Hello!
The other day I made the gertrudis turtle and it turned out very well, but I couldn't get the whites to rise to the point of snow. What do I have to do, because I followed the steps the same as to make the cream. Thank you

    1.    Silvia said

Puri, put this comment on the gertrudis cake and Elena will answer you. I have not done it to be able to tell you.

I made the biscuit and it didn't curdle WHY?

        1.    Silvia said

Monica, I don't know exactly what the problem could be. The ingredients should be kept out of time, not from the fridge. The mold must be very well covered and put enough paper on top so that steam does not enter the biscuit.

Hello, a question when you add the cake mixture on the flan mixture does not sink

    Thank you

    1.    Silvia said

You have to do it slowly and carefully. Even if it sinks a little, it looks good.

Hello: Well, the same thing happened to me, the first time I did it, it didn't work out and I haven't tried it again, hahaha, it will be a matter of trying again to see if there is more luck, I see that the Ingredients change from the recipe that I made that I caught it there, I don't even know where. I'll tell you the result, bye !!!

I hope that next time you will have more luck, like me. You will tell us.

It is one of my favorite desserts.

I'm glad it turned out well for you. I love the biscuit and the egg custard with varoma, I make them both enthusiastically.

      1.    carme said

I have done it twice and it does not work, can someone give me a cable? do not add anything to make it thick?

  9.   MARISOL said

One question, how do you remove the temperature after having programmed 37º to leave it for another minute and a half? Thank you

    1.    Silvia said

You just have to set the time and speed, and not give the temperature.

Hi, I'm new, but I've been in love with the THERMOMIX and your blog for a long time. I hope to learn a lot from all of you.

Hello, yesterday I made the biscuit I had doubts regarding the cake, because the truth is that I have used the varoma very little. Well, spectacular in its time and the very rich cake, (it was seen and not seen). We all loved it THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

    1.    Silvia said

I am very happy that it turned out well, because some of you tell me that it has been great and others that it is not good at all.
It gives me that this recipe is a bit of luck or I do not know where the fault may be ...
      All the best

  12.   Adolfo said

Hello, congratulations on your blog that I follow regularly, to which I am attached and all your entries arrive on time. Every time I think of doing something, the first thing I do is check what recipes you have and how you have done it.

I already tried to make the flan and it came out very well, so when I saw your biscuit, I did not hesitate for a moment and I did it immediately. However, I had my doubts about how the flan and the sponge cake could be made in a double boiler at the same time. My doubts came true, because although the flan part did set wonderfully, the cake dough was made into a compact dough with no resemblance to a sponge cake. I do not know where the failure will be, because I followed your instructions to the letter. In short, it will be a matter of trying again.

    1.    Silvia said

How angry Adolfo! I'm sorry that it was done to you that way. Maybe putting a minute less the cake will come out at its point.

  13.   encarni said

Hello, yesterday I made this recipe but the flan did not curdle. I used a silicone plumcake mold. Is this the reason why the flan was not made? What other mold do you advise me? Thanks

    1.    Silvia said

Encarni, maybe that's it. Even so, I advise you to put the ingredients from time, not from the fridge. I usually use disposable molds of the albal brand with a capacity of one liter.

  14.   angelabredu said

ARE DISPOSABLE MOLDS LIKE THOSE OF FLAN ????? THANKS

    1.    Silvia said

I use the disposable 1 liter albal molds and it comes out great.

  15.   mbea said

I'm going to try to do it, see how it comes out!

  16.   Popcorn said

Hi Silvia, this looks fantastic. Do you think it can be done in a glass pluncake mold? Thanks.

    1.    Silvia said

The truth is that I do it in the disposable albal and it is important to put the lid on it so that it sets, I do not know if it will work out for you.

  17.   TRADE said

The first time I did it in the oven, the cake was very dry, because the flan did not curdle, then it was perfect, in the oven, I put the oven to preheat with the water from the bain-marie, like this when we introduce The water mold is already hot and it is perfect, I am going to try it in the varoma, what I see is that the quantities are different, it may be because the mold is smaller. I'll tell you how I get, in the spectacular oven, an ideal dessert for everyone.

    1.    Silvia said

Merce the quantities are different because less enters the varoma. But if it works out better in the oven, keep doing it in the oven.

  18.   TRADE said

Girls, I have made the biscuit in the varoma, and it has not turned out well, the cake has shrunk, in the oven it does not happen to me, I think you have to double the amount for the cake when I do it again, I tell you.

  19.   Mari Carmen said

    Hello,
Yesterday I made this dessert, and the truth is, it tastes very good, but the cake was like it didn't rise and it came out very small, I don't know why it would come out like that, I don't know whether to double the amounts of the cake, what are you telling me?
For the rest, I have already made many of your recipes and all of them unbeatable.
    Thanks and a kiss.

    1.    Silvia said

Mari Carmen, do not raise the cake too much. I looked at the photo that I think the flan and sponge cake looks good. I have not tried to increase the amount of cake and I do not know how the result would be.

  22.   boryana said

Hello, can you use semi-skimmed milk?

  23.   Manu torres said

Of all the times I have done it, only once did I get liquid, but we opted to put it in the freezer and eat it like ice cream. The other times were a success, my in-laws were delighted when they tried it.

    1.    Silvia said

What a good idea to take it as ice cream in case it does not curdle. The main thing is not to throw anything away. Thanks Manu !!

  24.   María said

Yesterday afternoon I made the biscuit, and it took 60 minutes for it to set, but in the end it did. I don't know if it took that long because I did it in a silicone mold.
By the way it is great !!!!!!!

  25.   Sea Shell said

Well girls, I will try again, because we ate biscuits, more than biscuits, I mean that it did not curdle me, it tastes very good, but again it will be ……. Thanks Silvia for your recipes, everything I have done has turned out great…. !!!!!!!!!!!

  26.   Isabel said

Thanks for your recipe, it turned out great.

  27.   so much said

The same is not curdled because you used with skim milk. It happened to me once that I wanted to make yogurt in the yogurt maker and it didn't curdle and it was because of the milk (at least I think so, because whenever I did it with whole milk I had no problem)

  28.   loli said

I just made the biscuit and the cake does not look at all like the one in the photo, the texture is different, that looks like a lifetime cake, I mean the yogurt cake, which in this case would have oil, the dough and it turned out to me like The plates that are made for the gypsy arms, the one in the photo seems as if it had been made first in the oven and then you added the flan and set it later, well that is my impression of me if it has curdled me but overall I It comes out with a thickness of about two fingers and in the photo I see it as about four fingers.

    1.    Irene Thermorecetas said

Hello Loli, maybe it is because of the mold you have used, can it be? Anyway, it might be a photo effect, but the cake is no taller than two fingers. Thanks for write!

  29.   Mamen said

    Hello Silvia
My husband loves puddings and puddings, so… as soon as I saw this recipe of yours I was encouraged but… although he continued to love the mixture of flavors and textures… I did not catch on !!!
After the time you tell me about Varoma, it had not set, so I put more time, and then a little more ... the fact is that it was almost twice as long and the flan was too soft and the cake too compact 🙁 What Rage!!
I will try again to see if I have more luck but… what could the errors have been ???
    * The eggs were not out of time if not from the fridge
    * The mold was made of silicone and I cover it with albal paper, although then I put kitchen paper on top. If I do it with the aluminum disposables ??? Have I ever bought that type of mold to transport a dessert and the lid is made of cardboard, do you mean that lid?
I hope you can give me a hand. Thank you

    1.    Irene Thermorecetas said

Hello Mamen, what anger! Try the disposable aluminum molds next time, which transmit heat better and I think the flan will be better for you. Cover with albal paper and with a sheet of kitchen paper on top to absorb excess moisture. Let's see if it works better that way. You will tell me!

  30.   Susana Malaga said

Advice for everyone, if you make this recipe I recommend that you double the amounts if you want it to come out big as in the image. I made it as is and in a normal rectangular mold and it was very short, I think I am more than four, you should make it bigger. All the best.

  31.   Susana Malaga said

I also have to tell you that I curdled it in the oven in a bain-marie, because it was in the field and I didn't take the thermomix with me. I waited for the flan to set a little, then I added the cake batter and left it for about 10 or 15 minutes. more. It came out very tasty, but it is true that the cake does not look at all like the photo, it looks more like the cake plate for gypsy arm. Another day I will try another cake and I will tell you. All the best. I hope to be of help to you.

  32.   PINK said

GREAT! I have made it with a crown silicone mold, with the ingredients from the refrigerator, and I have left it for 35 minutes, well covered with two albal papers and kitchen paper on top and it has turned out very well, but it comes out very thin so I will try for the next one with the disposable albal mold that you mention…. I will repeat it!

  33.   florianomartinez said

My question is the following: when the sponge cake mix is poured over the flan mix, it doesn't sink and the two come together ??? thanks in advance and best regards

    1.    Mayra Fernandez Joglar said

in principle they should not come together because the layer both layers are dense and do not mix.
Are you going to dare to prepare it? Tell us the result, okay?

Well, in our case, we just got a very rich biscuit but the two similar textures, the cake has come out all soaked, I don't know what could have happened. No biscuit texture. What a pity.
