With the excuse of publishing a recipe for Halloween last weekend we ate one Spectacular red fruit bloody cake, just like that. And that after cookies tuned for the occasion ... how are we getting!
In this case, it is a scab made with breeze pasta and filled with red berries. Do not worry because they are Fruits of the forest one of those found in the frozen section of any supermarket so you can do it at any time of the year, even if you live in the middle of the city.
Any special occasion can be an excuse to prepare it or simply because, as we have done. But of course, if you make it your Halloween dessert ... you will be scared!
Bloody red berry cake for Halloween
This bloody red fruit cake will appeal to anyone, be it monstrous or normal. Ideal at any time of year and terrifying for Halloween.

Ingredients
For the mass:
- 350 g of pastry flour
- 1 teaspoon of chemical yeast
- 1 pinch of salt
- 100 g of sugar
- 150 butter g
- Yolks 2
- 1 egg
- 20g milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla (liquid or powder) - optional
For the filling:
- 500 g of frozen berries (my package was 450 and it was enough)
- 150 g of sugar
- 2 gelatin sheets
To decorate:
- The whites that were left over from making the dough can be used to paint the surface
- Icing sugar or normal sugar that we will crush
Preparation
Place the frozen red fruits in a bowl, sprinkle with 150g of sugar and marinate until thawed. If we don't have time we can use the microwave.
If we do not have icing sugar, it is time to do it, taking advantage of the fact that the glass is clean and dry. We put sugar in the glass we crush in progressive speed 7-10 a few seconds.
In the clean and dry glass we put the flour, the yeast, the salt, the sugar and the butter. We program 15 seconds, progressive speed 5-10.
We add the remaining ingredients of the dough and program 10 seconds, speed 6. We remove the dough from the glass, knead it slightly into a ball, wrap it in transparent film and reserve it in the refrigerator for approximately 15 minutes.
We put the gelatin sheets to hydrate in a bowl with cold water.
We put the Thermomix basket on another bowl and put the red fruits in it in order to strain them taking advantage of the liquid they have released.
We put 100 g of this liquid in the glass and program 1 minute, 100º, speed 1.
We drain the gelatin sheets and put them in the glass. We program 15 seconds, speed 2. We add the remaining liquid (I added a splash more water to make the cake a little more "bloody") and mix by programming 5 seconds, speed 2.
We put the drained red fruits in the bowl where we used to have the liquid. Now we add the liquid that we have in the Thermomix glass to the red fruits, that is, we pour the liquid into the bowl.
We place a sheet of greaseproof paper on our work table and 2/3 of our dough on it. We put a sheet of plastic wrap on the dough (or several, whatever are necessary to help us spread it) -You can also put the plastic wrap on the bottom and the oven wrap on top-. We roll out the dough with a rolling pin. When it is ready, we place the dough on a cake mold about 30 cm in diameter - with the baking paper at the base, without removing it. Now we remove the plastic wrap.
We pour the filling over the dough.
We spread the remaining dough with the roller, this time helping us with plastic wrap both below and above. When it is extended we cut strips of about 2 cm and we place them on the filling forming a lattice - I have used a mold to make the lattice but with the strips it will be perfect-. We make a fold at the edges with our hands so that when baking it is all united (see photo 5).
We paint with beaten egg and bake for 25-30 minutes in the oven preheated to 180º.
Remove from the oven and, if we want, sprinkle with icing sugar before serving.
Notes
When we put the cake in the refrigerator, the gelatin does its job and the cake stops being so "bloody". The photo you see above was taken when the cake cooled but without putting it in the fridge. Of course, both freshly made and deliciously fresh.
