What you see in the photo is a bread basket made with bread dough. A fun and original idea for these holidays.
I put some images in the preparation section so that you can see clearly how it is done. It is not complicated, you will see, and lasts for weeks.
You can do it today and show off at the dinner of New Years Eve
. It will also help you Reyes.
Inside you can put muffins like the other day or purchased bread, depending on the time you have.
Bread basket
With Thermomix we will make the bread dough that will be used to prepare this basket. It is ideal to place it in the center of the table, with our bread, on special occasions.

Ingredients
- 600 g of pastry flour
- 350 g warm water
- 12 g baker's yeast
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- Melted butter to spread in the bowl
- 1 egg for brushing
Preparation
We put the water and yeast in the glass and program 15 seconds, speed 3.
We incorporate the flour and mix 15 seconds, speed 5.
We add the salt and program 3 minutes, closed cup, spike speed.
We leave the dough inside the glass so that it rises for approximately 1 hour.
After that time, we take out the dough and roll it out with a rolling pin. With a pasta cutter, we cut 6-7 cm diameter discs. We spread them a little with our hands to get oval shapes and we decorate them with some stripes or with the drawing that you want.
Butter a bowl of the size that we want the basket and that is made of a material suitable for the oven. We put it upside down and begin to line the bottom, as seen in the photo. After the first round, we brush the leaves that we have already placed with water and make the second round, pressing the leaves slightly so that they do not separate later. We follow the same steps until the entire basket is covered.
Brush the entire surface with the beaten egg and cook the basket in the precooked oven at 220º for approximately 50 minutes. Look at the oven from time to time and if you see that the top is browning too much, put a little aluminum foil on it.
We let it cool in the oven. An hour later we carefully unmold the basket. Be careful because the egg may have stuck to the edge of the bowl. Pass a knife (carefully) around the edges, you will see that it comes out by itself.
We let it dry completely and ready to be used.
Notes
To preserve it, we wrap it in a cloth or a couple of kitchen towels.[br]Other cookie cutters can be used: hearts, Christmas trees...
