Cod fritters

cod-fritters-1

Maybe these days you want to prepare some cod fritters.

The buñuelos are typical of these dates. He too cod. So today's dish is perfect for Easter.
Making them with Thermomix we hardly stain pots because we can fry and mix in the same container. And all with minimal effort.

To make them I have used beer although there are those who make them with white wine and a pinch of yeast. Both ingredients go well.

I would like to know if they can be made with fresh cod. And if any rectification would have to be made.

      Hello M Dolores,
Yes, you can make it with fresh cod. I don't think you have to make any changes because it is sautéed with the onion, parsley and garlic.
      I hope you like it.
      Take care!

A little question, don't they have yeast?
    Thank you

    1.    Ascen Jimenez said

      Hi Carla!
In this case they do not contain yeast. The beer makes them puff up a bit but they are not as puffy as if you were carrying it. You can add a teaspoon if you prefer.

Hello, I have made them and they taste very rich but the dough was a little liquid and when I put them in the pan they were flat and not round. What could it be? Is it necessary to let the dough rest? Thanks

    1.    Ascen Jimenez said

Go Carme, how sorry I am ... There are flours that absorb more than others, that could be the reason ... or that the Thermo was not too precise in weight, or even the size of the eggs. Regarding rest, it is not necessary but it does not hurt either.
      A hug!

I'm going to dare with these fritters, just one thing, can I make them with water instead of beer?

    1.    Ascen Jimenez said

      Hi Dolores,
If you have, put better sparkling water.
      A hug!

I made them the other day, very good, really, and I did not put beer, I put water, the dough was a little liquid but I added a little more flour and delicious, just one question could freeze the dough. Fritters

    1.    Ascen Jimenez said

      Hello Montse!
Well, great that adaptation. I'm glad you liked them 🙂 About freezing the dough… I can't tell you because I haven't tried it. I don't know if once defrosted, stirring, it will have the consistency of before ...
      A hug!

Yesterday I decided on this recipe and it came out great (SPECTACULAR I would say)
I made some changes to the recipe:
    - Flour 250g instead of 190g
    - A teaspoon of yeast
    - A teaspoon of salt

The dough came out PERFECT for frying.

    Greetings from Granada.

PS: Thank you very much for the Ascen blog.
