If for the next birthday you are thinking of preparing the cake at home, take a look at today's recipe: a homemade cake filled with cream and with chocolate on the surface.

El cake It has a soft and delicate texture thanks to the cornstarch. As we are going to soak it in syrup, it is advisable to prepare the cake the day before. We will make it juicier when we serve it with the candles.

We will cover the surface with chocolate. Once solidified we can decorate the cake, for example, with sugar stars.

A simple birthday cake.

Ingredients

For the cake:

  • 4 eggs
  • 115 g of sugar
  • 50 g of sunflower oil
  • 110 g flour
  • 130 g cornstarch
  • 1 envelope of yeast for Royal type sweets (16 grams)

For the cream:

  • 500g milk
  • 5 yolks
  • 70 g of sugar
  • 50 g cornstarch

For the syrup:

  • 200 g of water
  • 100 g of sugar
  • The juice of half a lemon

For the chocolate icing:

  • 250 g of chocolate fondant for desserts (50% cocoa)
  • 10 g cocoa butter (optional)

Plus:

  • Little stars to decorate

Preparation

  1. We prepare the cake ...

  2. We preheat the honor to 170º and prepare a mold of about 22 centimeters in diameter, greasing it if necessary.

  3. We put the butterfly in the glass. We put in it the 4 eggs and the sugar. We program 6 minutes, 37º, speed 4 and we remove the cup.

  4. We schedule below 8 minutes, speed 4, also without beaker.

  5. We put the machine in motion by programming 2 minutes, speed 2 and, in that time, we add the oil, the flour, the cornstarch and the yeast, little by little, through the nozzle.

  6. We remove the butterfly and put our cake batter in the mold.

  7. Bake at 170º for approximately 35 minutes.

  8. We make the syrup ...

  9. We put the water, sugar and juice in the glass. We program 10 minutes, 100º, speed 2. We remove the syrup from the glass and reserve it.

  10. We prepare the cream.

  11. We put in the glass 500 g of milk, the yolks, the sugar and the cornstarch. We program 8 minutes, 90º, speed 4.

  12. We put the cream in a bowl and cover it with film, making the film touch the cream.

  13. When the three preparations (the sponge cake, the syrup and the cream) are cold, we prepare the glassa ...

  14. We put the chocolate in the glass and grate it by programming 10 seconds, speed 7. We take it out of the glass.

  15. We put 180 g of the chocolate in the glass and finish grating and, if we have it, the cocoa butter. 3 minutes, 50º, speed 2.

  16. Add the rest of the grated chocolate and program 2 minutes, speed 2.

  17. When the cake is cold, we unmold it and cut it horizontally. On both parts of the cake, the one that will be the base and the one that will cover the cream, we add the syrup with a spoon (it is better that the syrup is cold). Next we distribute the pastry cream, also cold, on the base of the sponge cake. We cover with the other sheet of sponge cake and pour the chocolate icing on top of the cake.

    The recipe is simple and it is very good, but they forget the procedure. When do you have to soak the cake with the syrup? When do you have to fill it? . At the end in point 17 it says "we pour the chocolate on the cake" and the rest what, when they tell us what to do and how?
