Moroccan donuts

to prepare some donuts As beautiful as the ones you see in the photo, we are only going to need bread dough. We will make the dough in a Thermomix, in a few minutes. What will require more time will be the raising.

Once the dough has doubled its volume we will have to form the donuts for, then, fry them.

As the dough is not sweet (in the end, it is bread dough) we are going to coat in sugar as soon as it's fried. I have used white sugar but you can roll them in powdered sugar.

Keep this fact in mind: when they are really tasty, it is freshly made. Don't miss them.

Ingredients

  • 250 g of water
  • 20 g fresh baker's yeast
  • 400 g flour
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • Olive oil for frying
  • Sugar for the batter

Preparation

  1. We put the water and yeast in the glass. We program 3 minutes, 37º, speed 1.

  2. We add the flour and the salt. We program 3 minutes, spike speed.

  3. Put the dough in a bowl and cover with film. Let the dough rest for about two hours. 

  4. We divide the dough into about 10 portions and form a ball with each of them. 

  5. Put abundant oil in a frying pan and put it on the fire.

  6. When the oil is hot, take a piece of dough, open a hole in the center with your fingers to form a doughnut. Put the donut in the pan, in the hot oil. We do the same with other portions, leaving space between them in the pan.

  7. We cook the donuts on both sides.

  8. Depending on how the donuts are cooked, when they are golden brown, we put them on a plate covered with absorbent paper.

  9. We pass the donuts by sugar while they are still hot.
