Fish nuggets

Fish nuggets is one of the dinners that I like to make the most for my daughters. It is a form of eat fish different and more fun since they can help us shape them.

It is the same as the recipe for Chicken Nuggets but with fish. To make them I usually use hake although you can use any white fish be it blue whiting, bream, dogfish, sole, rooster and even sea bass or monkfish.

Also to give them a nutritional plus you can coat them with chickpea flour. If you have never done it, I recommend that you jump in right now because it is very simple, you just have to grind the raw chickpeas at speed 5-7-10 until they are in flour.

With a soup or cream of first course and a salad to accompany them you will have the very balanced dinner.

Hi, I'm going from a country house with a bunch of friends and the kids and I was planning to bring the frozen chicken nuggets for some night. Now I'm going to bring an assortment of nuggets, hehe.
now the question: can I bread and freeze them like chicken? Thank you.

    1.    Elena said

Hello Cristina. Yes, they can be breaded and frozen. I like the chicken ones for egg and breadcrumbs and the fish for flour and egg.

      1.    Eva said

But you think that passing them the last by egg could freeze, it won't be very sticky… ..uigggg. Well, how am I going to try to make and freeze them? I'll tell you if that.
        Thank you and salu2

        1.    Elena said

  7.   Elena said

Hello. They are first passed through flour and then through the beaten egg. I was wrong and I have already rectified it. Thank you very much for the question because that way I have realized my mistake. All the best.

  8.   Elena said

Hello Conxi, the truth is that I have not tried it. I have always made them as I put in the recipe, but I suppose they will also be very good. You still have to add a little more bread or less milk. If you do, tell me how they look on you. All the best.

I made them today to eat, my daughters liked them, but the little girl protested a bit about the batter, so I'm going to try making them with egg and breadcrumbs. And how would they be with mozarella type cheese? Continue with the recipes, they are great.

    1.    Elena said

Hello Maria Jesus. I think it would suit you very well with another type of cheese. If you try, tell me how are you? All the best.

  13.   Monica Jardi said

Yesterday I made them for dinner, my daughter was not very funny, but she is very young, she is 2 years old and she still does not know what is good. His father and I loved them and we put on the boots, and that is why I made more because I bought frozen hake fillets and the package was 400gr, thank you very much!

    1.    Elena said

I'm very happy, Monica. All the best.

  14.   Ana Rosa said

I was thinking of making them since I saw them, but my little ones are small and they have just started with the pieces at dinners. Tonight we had dinner in Murcia because it was late for us to shop and they gave us the point of McDonalds ... they have had dinner as if they have been doing it all their lives, they have not put on a strange face. Nuggets and chips, yes, little, little, a handful of potatoes and two nuggets each. Now I suppose - I hope - that those of his mom will eat them even better. Tomorrow I'm going to the beach, and when I get settled in, I'll make a good batch for the freezer.

  15.   Estíbaliz said

Delicacies. I just made them to eat and they are to die for.

  18.   Alice said

I did them, finally !!!! One of my daughters have not been very funny, but I have loved them, they are great, but I have a little question ... I don't know if it is because the thermomix has not weighed well, `but the pasta has been quite soft, I do not know if it will be like that or not and of course they have remained in a strange way. But of exquisite flavor. Thank you so much for the recipe. Please keep putting recipes, you got me hooked. By the way I have a very simple recipe, if you feel like it I will pass it on to you.

    1.    Elena said

Hi Alicia. The dough has to be soft and it is even a bit difficult to mold. It also depends on whether the fish is frozen and a little water remains when defrosting.
Regarding your recipe, if you want you can send it to us with 3 or 4 photos and we can publish it. We are encouraging people who visit us to send us your recipes with some photos and once a month we will publish one. All the best,

  19.   Sandra said

    Hi all!
The truth is that I have had the thermomix for 3 years and I have not gotten too much out of it. I limit myself to making purees and some pastries. With your recipes everything seems very easy and delicious so I will dare to try to make one to see how it fits me. Since I made chilindrón chicken and everything was pureed, I don't dare to try too much. Thanks for everything.

    1.    Elena said

Cheer up Sandra. The chicken thing also happened to me and I learned the trick of making chicken thighs and to make them whole you have to place them upright between the blades, that is, the part of the bone, without meat, between the blades. so it will be perfect.
      A greeting.

Hello, I wanted to make the nuggets, both chicken and fish. I had been thinking of buying molds to shape them, like the "fish figurines" they sell frozen, but I don't know if it's possible, or the dough is soft.
My son is a poor eater, and I would like him to participate in the elaboration.
Thank you very much for the recipes. You are my cookbook.
    all the best

    1.    Elena said

Hello girls, and seeing that they can be frozen, with that idea today I made more quantity to be able to do it, also today I tried to make flour with chickpeas and they are also very good, with normal flour too ...
Well my question is how do I freeze them, because I also like to first dip them in flour and then egg, and I tried to just bread them in flour and leave them aside and then freeze them and thus later when defrosting I only have to pass them through egg, but they are still stuck all could not…. How do I do it ????

    1.    Elena said

Hello Mª. Angeles, I freeze the dough and when I thaw it I shape and coat it. All the best.

      1.    Mª ANGELES said

Hello wapa, is that I left them in the fridge and two days later I went to try and it shattered the most, I did not have one piece, it was impossible to make them, when you defrost them they stay good ?????

  36.   MATILDE said

I have made them with frozen fish and I have not realized it and once they are done I have frozen them, so I understand that it is not healthy to eat them now. Right?

    1.    Mayra Fernandez Joglar said

      Hello Matilde,

I understand that you have frozen them without frying them, right?

In any case I explain the freezing issue to you:

What should not be done is to freeze the thawed products without having cooked them. For example, refreezing a fish without having cooked it. It is not that it cannot be done, but in the process, the water in the piece is crystallized and the quality of both its texture and flavor qualities as well as its nutritional quality is greatly reduced.

On the other hand, frozen foods that have been cooked can be cooked again as long as the process has exceeded 65 degrees.

They are very simple brushstrokes but easy to remember.

      Kisses!

  37.   ascenjimenez said

    Hello Ellenbcn,
I don't know what could have happened. Maybe the fish had a lot of water, was it frozen?
    Kisses!

  38.   Susana said

    Hello
I have made them from Tuna. I put only 200g of fish for the strongest flavor. My daughters liked them a lot and they ate blue fish which is the pending subject at my house heh heh ...

Fabulous Susana !! Good change. I leave you this recipe in case you want to try it too: http://www.thermorecetas.com/2013/04/05/redondito-de-pescado/ and also a Russian salad, which is a good way to "camouflage" the tuna (you can add more tuna): http://www.thermorecetas.com/2013/04/17/ensaladilla-rusa-ii/ Thank you for writing us and for preparing our recipes !! A hug.
