Gypsy pot

Thermomix Recipe Gypsy Pot

This recipe is a Murcian stew. As I have already commented on several occasions, my husband's family are from this beautiful land And the first time I tried this recipe was at my husband's house, who was a boyfriend at the time.

My mother-in-law cooks luxury. I still don't know where she has had time to learn from as a mother of six. The fact is that she is a great cook and this time she delighted me with this stew. I loved it, I had no words to praise him and from that day on, whenever he prepared “gypsy pot” he remembered me to invite me or, if it was impossible for me to attend, he always kept a little for me… Do you remember Carmen?

It is a stew with vegetables and legumes. It is ideal to warm up but at home we are so spoiled that we usually drink it at any time of the year. My daughters also eat it very well, with their "broth" as my little girl says.

Today I want to dedicate this recipe with all affection to my mother-in-law, who for me is really a second mother and from whom I have learned a lot at all levels, but especially in the culinary, always sharing with me all her secrets in the kitchen art!!

How good this stew looks, with what my children like legumes !!! Because I just saw it and I no longer have time, but I did it today to eat.Muxas, thank you Silvia for this recipe, I'll tell you when I do it ...

Elo, your family sure like it. At home, it reminds my husband of his mother's dishes, but my girls love chickpeas. All the best.

I have made it tonight to eat tomorrow and it is delicious, so much so that I have burned my tongue eating a spoonful (but it will all be so good….). I have put green beans from the rounds and the pumpkin when it has finished cooking I have taken it out and I have crushed it. I have to say that with the tm21, which is mine, it is thick. Tomorrow I am going to put my boots. Thanks for this recipe, I'm sure I will repeat it more times.

As a good Murcian that I am, I love this stew. Notice that I always do it in a pot because I didn't know how to do it in a thermomix.
    Thank you for the recipe!
    Kisses

My mother-in-law makes it great in the pot as you say, but in the thermomix it comes out just as incredible. When you try it, you will tell me. All the best

The truth is that it is one of those stews that they give you to try, because as a child I had never had it, but I loved it from the first moment and now I do it very often. I hope you like it.

First of all, everything you do is great and it comes out delicious.
Because you don't take advantage of it, since your better half is from Murcia, so they can explain to you how the doe cake is made and you can pass it on to me.
How do I know you are going to try it; I thank you in advance

    1.    Silvia said

Raúl, I have never tried it, but I will investigate with my in-laws and if I realize it I will try to publish it.

Hello Silvia!! I am new because of these issues. I have the old thermomix, inherited from my mother, who bought the new one… could you tell me how I adapt the recipe? All that left turn, spoon speed… ah! and congratulations to both of you for the page, it's great.

    1.    ELO said

That I can answer you because I have done it today with my tm21. Before I ask you to add the pumpkin, green beans ...... you put the butterfly, and when you add everything, you put the same temperature but at speed 1. I have done the same. Whenever a recipe tells you to turn to the left / spoon speed you put butterfly, speed 1. I hope I have helped you.

Thank you very much Elo, let's see how it works out. I'll tell you about it.

Yesterday we ate the "pot" ... What a delicious thing !!!! We sucked each other's fingers !!!! The only thing, I have the TM-21 and I had to put more time (10 min) in Varoma temperature because the green beans were hard, and it was very thick, but we did not care ... GREAT !!!! Thanks, pretty girls !!!

I am very glad that you liked it, the truth is that as you say the time also depends a lot on the type of vegetable, but with a few more minutes of cooking the problem is solved. All the best

All the recipes are very interesting to me, I bought the Thermomix and did not dare to cook because it gave me the feeling that everything would be crushed with the blades and it would not look good. But I would like you to indicate in your recipes if they can be consumed the next day or if they can be frozen. Well, I work shifts and I have to cook for a few weeks in the afternoon. Another question if the recipe has potatoes the next day is the potato in condition to be eaten. Thanks for your response in advance. All the best

    1.    Silvia said

Rafi, the vast majority of spoonful recipes of this type can be consumed the next day without problem and frozen as well, although sometimes when defrosting it is not as good as freshly made.

Today I have done it but honestly we have not liked anything, sorry, I do not know what I have done wrong but it has been a resounding failure, for my taste too much onion, it smelled of onion and tasted of onion, I expected a tasty stew of Those of us in Huelva who are used to eating, and I really wanted to do so because of all their good comments but it really has disappointed me, I have to say, and I don't know if it has something to do with it, that instead of pumpkin I put carrot. Well I hope you tell me that I have done wrong or if that is really your taste. A big kiss.

    1.    Silvia said

I am sorry that you did not like it, anyway the amount of onion is not much, it is for the sauce of the stew and it is completely crushed and poached, it does not have to taste like it. In fact in my family the children eat it without problem and none of them notice the onion. Pumpkin is one of the main ingredients and with the carrot you have changed the flavor of this stew a bit. It gives me that there is something that you have not done correctly so that it does not taste good to you.

Hello tomorrow I wanted to make this recipe that looks great but I have a question to see if you can help me: Can I make the frozen green beans? or I have to defrost them before. A greeting.

Today I have made the recipe. It is such an exquisite dish that it is difficult to believe that it is also so healthy. Without a doubt, I will repeat it often and thus include legumes in the food sample in a tasty way.

    Thanks for sharing.

Great recipe ... I'm glad that an ancestral Murcian stew can be adapted to modern times and can be made quickly with the thermomix. By the way, I have added peppermint to give it the touch of my mother-in-law and I think there is nothing to envy my stew to hers. Thank you!

    1.    Irene Arcas said

What a good comment Roman, great the modification of the peppermint. Thank you very much for writing us! 🙂

  18.   CARLOS said

We do it regularly. It is very good, it is a fat-free stew, easy to prepare and very tasty.
