Low fat orange cake

Today's cake we are going to prepare without using oil or butter. It is not fat-free because we are going to put eggs and ricotta in it... but we will obtain as a result a cake with less calories than the usual ones.

Flavor will not be lacking since it has an orange, both the juice and the skin. With our kitchen robot We will grate that skin and mix practically all the ingredients. 

Do not forget to add at the end those 25 grams of warm water.

And if you like sweets with orange you have to also prepare these orange donuts for breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 1 orange juice (skin and juice)
  • 250 g of ricotta
  • 120 g of sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 25 g cornstarch
  • 230 g flour
  • 1 envelope of yeast type Royal (15 grams)
  • 25 g warm water

Preparation

  1. We put in the glass the skin of the orange (only the orange part) and grate it programming 7 seconds, speed 10. 

  2. Add the ricotta, sugar, orange juice and eggs. We program 20 seconds, speed 4.

  3. Add the cornstarch, flour and yeast. We program 10 seconds, speed 5.

  4. Now add the warm water and mix with the spatula, until everything is well integrated.

  5. We put our dough in a mold of about 24 centimeters in diameter.

  6. We distribute a few sugar sticks on the surface of the cake.

  7. Bake at 175º (preheated oven) for approximately 35 minutes. With a skewer stick we can check if it is well baked. We put it in the cake and, if it is clean when we take it out, our cake will be done and we can take it out of the oven.

Notes

Flour can be substituted for wholemeal flour. In this case I advise you to put a little more warm water: 30 grams instead of 25.
