Low cholesterol cake with egg whites and olive oil

low-cholesterol-cake

Take advantage of egg whites, not feel bad when it comes to indulging ourselves, warm ourselves in the kitchen on a cold winter day ... these are just some of the reasons I give you to prepare this low cholesterol cake which, in addition, is the simplest.

It is low in cholesterol because it is made with olive oil and egg whites, without yolks. And with almonds, which help reduce bad cholesterol.

A time of excess is approaching and replacing industrial pastries with home made recepies as this is a good option. To those of you who have cholesterol, I also recommend this oat bread, since this is a very good cereal to combat it.

      Hi Tere,
I think so, with 150g of pasteurized whites you should be just as good. Will you tell us how are you?
      Take care!

    Hola!
How will it be without almonds? My husband is allergic to nuts. I have thought to put a little cinnamon to give it a little flavor ... I'll tell you about it!

      Hello Amparo,
I haven't tried it without the almonds. If you remove them, replace their weight with some flour (it can even be oatmeal that you make yourself with your Thermomix).
Great about the cinnamon. I think he's doing great.
Let's see how it looks on you.
      Take care!

Apart from icing sugar, what do we do in the machine to sprinkle it, do we do too much?

    1.    Ascen Jimenez said

      Hello, Gloria,
The 150g of sugar that we put in the glass at the beginning and turn into icing sugar is then mixed with the egg whites.
In that step you can do a little more and reserve that addition for decoration.
I do not know if I have answered your question ... Tell me if I have not been able to explain.
      A hug!

The only thing is that it did not go up much and that I threw the whole envelope of Royal but otherwise ex-lens

It's true, Gloria. It does not grow too large. It reminds me a bit of the Santiago cake.
            Thank you again.

Well, I take note as a pending recipe. I already have a few so getting with them will be one of my proposals for 2015.

Hi, thanks for the recipe. I am learning to use the thermomix that the little use that we give it more than a machine is an adornment of the kitchen.
When you say a little oil .. How much is a little? A snack for dessert? I'm not used to using a lot of oil and for me little is for others nothing 🙂

    1.    Ascen Jimenez said

      Hi Mari,
Well, you have to use that little machine, you will see how it hooks 😉
On the oil, in this case is what you need to grease the mold. You can use a pastry brush or even a piece of kitchen paper. A well-spread teaspoon of oil will suffice.
      A hug!
