Floury

mealy

If you are from Guadalajara or frequent one of its beautiful towns, you are probably fans of this original sweet, the mealy.

For those of you who do not know them, I would define them as cakes or dumplings giants stuffed with tiny black grapes, characteristic of the area.

My mother says that my grandmother made them with the same dough with which she made pan. But there are many versions because the dough found today in bakeries (at least in Brihuega) is sweet and has little to do with bread.

The one that I put here is a middle ground. Of course, to the alcarreƱ @ s that you have a recipe for this delicacy, please share it. We would love to try it!

          Hello, Jose Maria,
Make the dough like any other, as if you were making a bread dough. And knead it with your hands, as if you were going to make a loaf.
          I hope you like them.
          A hug!
