rub each other

rub each other

As it's been a few days since the orange cupcakes with chocolate and what is promised is also a debt ... well, here are the rub each other.

I have to admit that it took longer to prepare the molds than in making the sobaos itself, but everything is for the presentation. What have they been beautiful?

It is an origami job made with greaseproof paper, entertaining but not difficult at all. But, of course, if you have more important things to do (which will most likely be), I propose these two options:

  • use the typical muffin molds.
  • Spread the dough on a baking tray covered with greaseproof paper and, once cooked, cut into portions of the size you want.

Ah, once done you can freeze them and take them out for a little while before consuming them.

Encourage yourselves to do them because they are really good!

Ayyy Ascen, you've hit the nail on the head. Next week I will make these sobaos for sure, at home they will hallucinate. One question, don't they sell molds for sobaos? The truth is that as I always buy the muffins, I had never stopped to think if they sold the sobaos ... Thanks for your compi recipe !! Also, the photo… incredible.

    1.    Ascend said

      Thanks Irene.
About the molds, I can't tell you. They will sell them but I don't think it's easy to find them (at least I've never seen them). Perhaps the closest thing is to use square muffin molds although they do not have the same shape ... But that's why don't stop making them, with or without a mold they are just as rich!

Thanks for the information and for your comment Jorge.
I know they will never be like the real thing ... but considering how far we are from that area, either I make them or we only eat them on our visits to Spain!
About the baking tray ... maybe the recipe you used was another, right? When I have made it at home using the baking tray, of course the appearance is of a thin sponge but the flavor has nothing to do with it. Also when it comes out of the oven I cut it into small rectangles and I keep them that way.
If you dare to try them, you will tell me the result

I was looking forward to having this recipe to make it with my thermomis but I have a question if I don't have molds, how can I make them if you know another solution? Thank you very much, ascend and go ahead with the recipes mari

    1.    Ascend said

      Well, you have three options:
-Make them with greaseproof paper (this link can help you http://desalyarena.blogspot.it/2006/06/moldes-para-sobaos_05.html)
      -use muffin molds
-Put the spread dough on the baking tray and when cooked cut it into portions
You will tell me which solution you choose and how they fit.

Do we keep the butterfly on the blades during the whole process?

    1.    Ascend said

      Hello Lola,
Yes, we removed it. It is only used to mount the whites. I have corrected it in the text so there is no confusion.
      Thank you!

Thank you very much for the recipe, I have made it a few times and they have been delicious. I advise making them in a large mold and then splitting it, it is much faster, cleaner and less cumbersome.

    1.    Ascen Jimenez said

Great, Marivi! You are absolutely right, in a large mold we complicate our lives less, and more if we do them regularly. Thanks for your comment. Kisses!

Hello I have thrown the SOBAOS and they do not have the same flavor that may be due.

    1.    Ascen Jimenez said

      Hi Ana,
How strange because they are like the sobaos that we can buy in any store. Could it be that you used salted butter? I can not think of anything else…
      Kisses, ascen

  12.   Ana said

Hello, I think I know why it may be because it was not butter but margarine, could that be why? And if so, which one should I use. Thanks

    1.    Ascen Jimenez said

It could be ... Use unsalted butter. You will find it in any supermarket. Give them another chance, they are very good!
      Regards, Ascen

  13.   Ana said

Hello, I have already made them again and they are very good although the next day they hardened a bit because it could be, otherwise, very good in flavor. Thanks

    1.    Ascen Jimenez said

      Hi Ana,
Think that they are homemade, without preservatives or other additives. What you can do is, once baked, freeze them. When you want to consume them, you take them out a little before or put them in the microwave for a few seconds. So they will be almost almost as freshly made.
I'm glad you have liked them.
      Regards, Ascen

  14.   Paqui Aznar said

Hello, I would like to know if I can put olive oil instead of butter

    1.    Ascen Jimenez said

      Hi Paqui,
The problem with making that change is that then they would not taste like sobaos ... Here is a recipe for muffins that look great with oil. If you want to substitute the sunflower for olive oil you can do it calmly, they will have a more intense flavor. You can also make them without chocolate.
      A hug!

Hello, you have just returned from a trip to Asturias wanting to sobao. Your recipe seems fine to me, although I have a doubt. If you used a rectangular mold, what is the ideal measurement?

    1.    Ascen Jimenez said

      Hi Nhoa!
Use your baking tray, covering it before with baking paper. Or, if you prefer in a mold, make it in a large one, in the largest you have at home.
I hope they look great on you.
      Thanks for writing to us!

Hello Ascen, one question, does the rum have to be someone special? Thanks greetings

    1.    Ascen Jimenez said

      Hello Sonia,
Put the one you have at home or the one you like the most.
I hope they look great on you.
      A hug!
