Jam / Syrup Glaze

Jam glaze

Have you ever wondered what pastry cakes or cakes have to have that beautiful shine and color? I mean the apple tarts or similar and the cakes that have fruits on top (strawberry, kiwi, berries ...).

Before discovering this glazed In the book “Pastry and Pastry” I thought that they all had some kind of jelly. But it's not always like this. We can make it simply with jam, sugar, water and lemon.

With this recipe you can give a special touch to your desserts since in addition to being very useful for decorating cakes it also serves as syrup to enrich any cake or ice cream.

Of course, you can make it the flavor you want ... you just have to choose the jam and ecco! you will have your glaze ready for decoration.

For those of you who did not know it yet ... I hope it is useful for you!

Cool!!! I was intrigued with that decoration, I also thought it was jelly. Thank you.

When you have the opportunity, try it because in addition to being much prettier, they also gain in flavor.

the normal sponge cake can be filled with this syrup?

    1.    Ascend said

I wouldn't use it for that. For the inside of a cake, the normal jam, pastry cream is better ... If what you want is to turn the cake into a cake, first I would bathe the two halves with syrup, then I would fill with jam and if I wanted to decorate the surface with fruits then yes I would put the frosting on top, to add shine and flavor to the decoration.
      I hope I've helped.

I don't really understand the speed and the ingredients, since they are more than 100 grams, I just bought the thermomix and I still haven't gotten the point.

      Hola!
My fault, I had put gr instead of º -that is, at 100º of temperature-. It is already corrected in the recipe.
I hope it turns out great and thanks for your comment!

Is it in oven? Or a water bath? It is that I did not understand very well xD

      Hi Miriam,
The glaze is made in Thermomix, I don't know if you mean that ... Then you can use it to shine the cakes you cook.
      A hug!
