Hake in beer sauce

Hake in beer sauce is a great dinner recipe because it's light and quick to make.

I had always used beer with the chicken and never with fish. And when I saw this recipe I immediately made it because I already knew we were going to love it ... and it has been.

The recipe was only for fish, but taking advantage the varoma I made these cooked potatoes as a side, which were perfect and the dish was thus complete.

When making this recipe my blades have turned black. Has it happened to you? Is it because of the beer?

    1.    Elena said

It has not happened to me. I have made this recipe on several occasions and the Thermomix is perfect when washed and I have never had black blades. I use Mahou beer, which is what I have at home. I imagine it's because of the beer. Despite that, did you like the recipe?

  4.   margarita said

I already made the recipe and it is GOOD, super easy to make and you have it on the table in no time.

Elena I made this recipe today and the sauce was super bitter. I have used 5 star mahou beer. Why would it have been? Otherwise I follow your recipes every day. Bsitos.

    1.    Elena said

Hello Elvira, I don't know why you have been bitter. I also use Mahou and it is delicious. I know people who make this recipe and it fits just like me. Would the cream be okay? If the cream is bad, bitter. If you do it again, tell me how's it going. All the best.

I did it yesterday for lunch, and it really turned out great. I always have a lot of problems with the food that I put out because my 19-year-old son doesn't like almost anything and yesterday when he came home from work he always asked what to eat, when he saw that there was fish, puffff. He said the usual -me of that I don't eat-, but my surprise was when I went to the living room to take the food to his father and saw that the plate was empty. How cool, he liked it. Thank you for making these easy and good recipes. A kiss.

I'm glad this recipe will succeed with your family. It happens to me with my older than 5 years old, he always protests when he sees the food on the plate, but then he takes everything. I don't know what to do to get him to try it first and then complain, if he doesn't like it.
      All the best

Hello, the other day I made this recipe, and the sauce came out very liquid and very very bitter. Thanks and best regards.
Happy holidays and thanks for your recipes

    1.    Elena said

What a shame, Tere! I guess it's because of the type of beer. If you do it again, take 50 gr. less beer and it will be better.
Thank you very much for seeing us. Merry Christmas!

  10.   ellen said

Hello, thank you very much for everything; this recipe can be made with non-alcoholic beer and low calorie liquid cream? Thank you.

    1.    Silvia said

Of course Elena, you can substitute the ingredients for the same but low in calories and your dish will be a little lighter but equally rich.
      All the best

Hello, a question, can the recipe be made with white wine instead of beer? thanks in advance

    1.    Elena said

Hello Marina, yes it can be done. See the recipe for "Hake Meatballs in White Wine Sauce." It's delicious. All the best.

Hi, I'm a novice in this, I have the thermomix 31 15 days ago, I made the recipe but the potatoes were not made, they were raw, what happened was not what happened, I cut them as it says in the photo, sliced, the fish was good .Thank you

    1.    Elena said

Hello Begoña, I cut them into thin slices and in 20 minutes they are done. I suppose it will also depend on the type of potato, because there are some harder than others. If it happens to you again and the time is up, you can finish cooking them in the microwave. I'm glad you liked the fish. All the best.

As always delicious, yesterday I made it for dinner and it was wonderful, I also made the potatoes, rich, rich ... Thanks for the recipes.

Varoma temperature with cream? Don't they say that when we use cream the optimum temperature is 90º?… Thank you

    1.    Elena said

Hello Angelina, I had not heard that. There are many recipes with cream that temp. it is higher than 90º and they are perfect. All the best.

Hello Paula, I am very sorry that you did not like it. I guess you had too much beer and that's why it made you bitter and runny. All the best.

  19.   ROCIO said

Hi! I would like to cheer up with this hake, since I have made a few of your recipes and they come out great! could you apply it to sole? I have two small children and I prefer this type of fishing since I make sure that it does not have thorns.
Would you have to modify any amount? Do you know any other recipe with this type of fish?
    Thank you very much!

    1.    Elena said

Hello Rocío, yes you can do it with sole and it is very tasty with the cava sauce. Look at the recipe for «hake in cava». All fish recipes can be made with the one we like the most. If you make the beer sauce and it's for kids, add a little less beer to it. All the best.

The first thing to say is that I just discovered your blog and I loved it. Now I just have to try some recipes.

The first has been this. I made it last night and the truth is that it doesn't taste good, more than that, I have already loved my boyfriend too. A recipe with steamed fish and a super smooth sauce, although for my taste a bit liquid (when it warmed up it got thicker).

The only problem was the potatoes, not hard, raw. I think the problem was the aluminum foil. When I finished making the fish, I reserved the sauce and added water to finish making the potatoes (after removing the aluminum foil).

Next time I'll add a teaspoon and a half of flour.

    I loved it.

Tonight I'm going to make the Nelba rice, I'll tell you about it.

    1.    Elena said

I'm glad you like our blog, Nazareth! Welcome!.

Total failure. The sauce has burned and a crust has formed on the bottom of the glass. Is it correct to cook the cream for 20 minutes at such a temperature?

    1.    Elena said

What a chore, Elena! The recipe is correct, I make it often and it always comes out well. As you can see in the comments, a lot of people have already done it and in general, they like it a lot. All the best.

  22.   narci said

How good, how good, how good ... I was not very in favor of Varoma, because the times I have used it, the food has remained as sonic, without flavor, but, in this case, as the sauce is sooooo good, the fact that the fish is steamed, it combines perfectly ... And that I did it a little by eye, because I put less fish, but since you did not put weight in the fish, more or less I invented the proportions, but I got the justita sauce… Very good, really !!! and also very soft.
I had to make an effort not to suck the glass… THANK YOU !!!!

    1.    Elena said

I'm very happy, Narci! All the best.

  23.   rafaela said

The recipe is great, but the steamed potatoes in the thermomix are hard for me, I don't know how to make them so that they come out tender. Thank you very much, for your recipes lately I am using it more since I found your page

  24.   But to you said

I just made this recipe for dinner and it is GREAT, I had no beer and I put white wine in it. As I had read some comments that said that the potato was not done well, I did not put the aluminum foil on it and in addition to the potato (cut very thin) I have put fresh broccoli and asparagus (what I caught in the fridge), with the sauce on top was great. I had to get up and defrost bread to dip in the sauce… My 10-year-old son who doesn't like fish at all, the truth is that hake has tried it but he hasn't finished it, but the vegetables and the sauce they have enchanted him. My other 13 year old son licked his fingers (hake included). Thanks for your recipes and I will try it again with beer (although the truth is that it already has to be good to improve the white wine!)

  25.   inma said

The potatoes have been raw and the fish too. The sauce wasn't bad, a bit bland and then sour. I had to make the grilled fish, micro-potatoes and pour the sauce on top. I don't know what happened, I have followed all the steps. I really like your website. Now I'm going to make the brownie pan. Thanks for the ideas.

    1.    Irene Thermorecetas said

Hello Inma, let's see why that could happen to you:

      1. The potatoes were maybe too big, so next time cut them in half or quarters to make sure they get done right.
      2. The fish was perhaps too thick for that time, so next time if you don't have thin loins of hake put it on for 10 more minutes or make the pieces smaller.
      3. The sauce is a sauce with a mild flavor, but of course, you can add your personal touch, from a pinch of avecrem to any herb you like. The bitter may be due to the brand of beer.

Sometimes the recipes do not come out right the first time, but do not be discouraged, you will see how the next time you get 10.

Thanks for write! I hope I've helped.

  26.   Gem said

Delicious. Although I have varied some ingredients to make it light, we are operating biqkini ;-p. I leave you written down what I have varied. I have substituted the cream for oat milk, wheat flour for spelled flour and as I read that sometimes the sauce was a bit bitter for the beer I have only made 80 ml.
And thanks for publishing this delicious recipe, I'll make some more and I'll tell you about it.
    All the best

    1.    Virtues said

Thank you, Gema, we take note ...

  27.   Jordi said

Tonight it's time to make this recipe, but I'm going to exchange the hake for salmon. Will I have the same result? And, why do you have to put the aluminum foil to cook the potatoes? I'll tell you how it turned out.
Congratulations for providing us with so many recipes !!!

      Hello Jordi,
