Hake in cava

This recipe for hake in cava is a delicious dish, perfect for a party day like Christmas day or for any other party or special evening with guests.

The sauce is delicious and we can accompany it with the fish that we like the most. In this case it is made with hake and prawns.

If you want to make this hake in cava and you are a lot at home and you don't have everything in the varoma, you can make the sauce in the Thermomix and fish and baked potatoes. This way it is much more practical and it is just as rich.

If the potatoes are very large, it is best to cut them into smaller pieces so that everything is done at the same time. This way you avoid that they remain raw or that you miss the fish.

By the way, what are turned potatoes?

    1.    Elena said

Hello Marisa, the truth is that the sauce is delicious and you can make it with any fish. Turned potatoes are small potatoes that we make oval with the knife, you have to round them. All the best.

Hello Elena, first of all I wanted to congratulate you on your page. I am becoming a fan of your recipes, I am stung, every day I go on the web to see what new recipe you have put. I'm learning a lot.

Regarding this recipe, if I made the fish and potatoes in the oven. To make only the sauce with the TH, would it also be necessary to put the varoma or is it enough with the glass only? and I would have to put it also 25 min. ??

Thanks for sharing your recipes and tricks with everyone. All the best.

    1.    Elena said

Hello Rosa, first of all, thank you very much for seeing us. Regarding the recipe, you do not have to put the varoma and you do have the goblet. The time is the same. I hope you like it. All the best.

I love the recipe but there are a lot of us for dinner and I will have to make it in the oven. You know how to do it? Thanks and Merry Christmas

    1.    Elena said

Hello Auxi, you have to pour a jet of oil on the baking tray and spread it out, place the salted fish on top and another jet of oil on top. You have to do the same with the potatoes, although it is better than putting the potatoes 10 minutes before. They take longer to make and then you add the fish. I hope you like it. MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Hi, the recipe looks delicious. Can hake loins be used from frozen ones? If so, do you recommend a specific brand of loin? The thing is that none of them convinces me, lest my fish melt :(. Thanks for your blog! I'm very hooked: P.

Hello Bluencar, I usually buy them at Mercadona and I like them a lot, but the truth is that I try to buy them fresh. Thank you very much for seeing us and I hope you continue to like our recipes. All the best.

I would like to ask you if making the fish in the oven, the sauce has to be done in the same time that you put it or that is the time with the fish in the varoma, since I'm looking forward to doing it because it looks great, oh and what congratulations for the exquisite recipes that you are teaching us, kisses.

    1.    Elena said

Hi Raquel, the sauce time is the same. I hope you like it and thank you very much for watching us. All the best.

Hello friends, we are 12 for dinner, can you tell me the amounts that I have to put for the sauce, and if I can prepare it the day before. Thank you

    1.    Elena said

Hello Dolores, I would make it with triple the ingredients of the sauce and the fish and potatoes in the oven. I like to prepare the sauce the same day because if I make them the day before they will be thicker. You can do it and if that day you see it thicker, add a little water when heating it. All the best.

  15.   bluecar said

I made this recipe to eat and I must say it was a great success, my sincere congratulations The only thing I have to say is that the cooking time for potatoes is not the same as for prawns or hake (I finally bought the fresh fish at Mercadona), so for the next time I either put the potatoes in the lower part of the varoma or I make them apart. Otherwise, the sauce is simply spectacular, and the recipe surprises anyone who tries it ^^.

    1.    Elena said

I'm glad you liked it, Bluencar. I made the sauce with double the ingredients and the fish and potatoes were baked. It was perfect. Greetings and Happy 2011!

Hello, I would like to know if you make the fish and potatoes in the oven, at what temperature is it done? And what do you put the potatoes on one tray and the hake on another? Thank you very much.

    1.    Elena said

Hello Elena, I put the oven at 180º and first I put the potatoes, sliced, with a little oil for about 10 minutes and then in the same tray I add the fish and they finish making the potatoes with the fish for another 10 minutes .
Greetings and I hope you like it.

Hello, I plan to make this recipe next weekend for a family dinner, my question is the following: if I make the prescado in the oven and the sauce in the thermomix, how do I do it? Do I put the fish in the oven together with the sauce or alone? How long should I leave it in the oven? Thanks a lot

  29.   MARI CARMEN said

    Hola!
I love your blog, you have some great recipes that are very easy to make.
I would like to ask you if this sauce would go well with the meat, I have already tried this recipe and it is exquisite, but my doubt is this. Thanks for clarifying it and congratulations.

    1.    Irene said

Of course Mari Carmen! This sauce is a delight, it works great on just about anything. You will tell us!

  30.   Carmela said

Hello Irene, the other day I made this recipe, but when the sauce cooled a bit, let's not even have time to remove it from the glass, and it stayed like curd, I don't know if I explain myself, it was left with many lumps but big, I beat it again in the thermomix and it was very fine, but when I dumped it in the sauce boat it curdled again, I don't know if you can understand me and you can help me, it was a success in flavor, but in appearance it left muxo that to wish,
    Thank you

    1.    Irene Thermorecetas said

Hello Carmela, what a strange thing about the sauce, because in fact I made it and what was left over I took it the next day in the tupperware and it was perfect. In fact, the sauce does not have flour or anything like that, on the contrary, it has a potato that would make it bind well, but without lumps. Try this recipe to see:

      - 200 gr of leek (the white part)
      - 50 gr of extra virgin olive oil
      - 300 gr of cava
      - 300 gr of fish broth
      - 1 heaping teaspoon saffron threads
      - 1 pinch of salt

We introduce the leek and the oil and crush 5 seconds, speed 5. We lower the remains of the glass and the lid and program 10 minutes, speed 1, varoma temperature.

Add the cava, the fish stock that we had reserved, the salt and the saffron. We program 12 minutes, speed 1, varoma temperature.

Then we grind progressive speed 5-7-10 for 1 minute.

Elena thank you very much as always. I've been reading you for a long time and I have a visit and this recipe has to be spectacular but I have a question. We will be enough so that the fish will be baked but I put it with the sauce? That doubt arises I do not know if the sauce is once the fish is removed from the oven. Thank you

    1.    Irene Arcas said

Of course Tania, there is no problem, you can make it separately and put it together before serving. You will see how delicious!
