Cookies «Old Amsterdam» with caraway

The recipe for Cookies "Old Amsterdam" with caraway are the best Cheese Cookies I've tried. In some restaurants they serve them as an aperitif, although these are much better.

They are made with old cheese "Ood Amsterdam", which is a cow's milk cheese with a special curing and it is delicious. At home I always have a wedge of this cheese.

They also carry seeds caraway, whole oat flakes and poppy seeds (optional). They all give it a very special flavor and go perfectly with cheese. I buy them in health food stores.

I recommend doing them because they will be sure success as appetizer at a special lunch or dinner.

Hello Piedad, there is it in the big supermarkets. I buy it at Carrefour and El Corte Inglés, but there may be others such as Alcampo, etc.
    A greeting.

Hello, how about Elena? I am "sayuri" and I have been following your blog for a long time, although without participating. I have made some of your recipes and I love them !!! I am considering making these cookies and since I thought I had all the ingredients, it turns out that I am missing the whole oatmeal flakes. What a bummer because I will not leave the house until Monday. Have you not tried by chance to make it with another type of flake? I have at home oatmeal flakes (not whole grains), crunchy corn flakes and the typical Kellogs classic. The recipe would vary a lot with any of them, which one do you advise? I wait for your answer before putting my hands in the dough.
Go ahead with your blog. Although we do not participate, there are many who follow you.
    All the best
    Sayuri

Thank you very much Sayuri. You give me a lot of encouragement and energy to continue. Really, thank you very much for your words.
Regarding the flakes, I would use the normal oat flakes. I think the recipe will not change. If you do, tell me how are you?
      A abrazo.

Hi Elena, my question regarding cheese crackers is whether you can't substitute lard for butter. For me the taste of butter is intolerable, Thank you for the work you do with this page. All the best. Agnes

What a shame, Teresa! I love these cookies and I make them often as stated in the recipe and they always look perfect. Not that this could happen.
