Thermomix recipe Potato Omelette

The potato omelette I think is one of the most typical dishes from our kitchen. No person who visits Spain can leave without tasting this recipe. In addition, it is one of the foods that is good for us at any time, for lunch, for lunch or accompanied with a salad for dinner.

At home we all love it, especially the girls. The potato omelette that we like the most in our family is that of my "Grandmother Marce", which makes it juicy and delicious. I tried to take a couple of classes of his experience to make a good omelette and the truth is that they were quite similar to his.

Then the Thermomix® arrived in my kitchen and I was encouraged to try other versions with an ideal result: fluffy, tender and delicious.

In addition, although I usually curdle them in the pan, it could also be done in the varoma.

Thank you very much for the recipe. My potatoes come out a bit raw. I will repeat it again with your advice.
    Greetings.

    1.    Silvia said

The truth is that they are not fried, but as stews.

  2.   Lou said

Only one thing, it is a tray, not a tray. I have the creeps to see it.

    1.    Silvia said

Thank you very much, I have already changed it, the truth is that sometimes it is so many in the morning when I finish the recipes to publish it, that I no longer see.

  3.   Cris said

Lou, I don't think you have to be so fussy, it's just a failure. I think he was confused when he put it because right after the tray he was going to put varoma, which is with V. You have the proof that a little lower he wrote tray again and put it right.

    1.    Silvia said

      Thanks Cris.

  4.   Lou said

Surely it has been a failure, I have no doubt, but that does not mean that you can notify the failure to correct it, right?

    1.    Carmen said

Yes, but you have left over the tagline.

      1.    Elena said

        Hip Hip Hooray!!

  5.   Carmen said

Hi Silvia I have a question, first it curdles on a tray - varoma and the second on a varoma without the tray, is that correct? Thanks a great recipe. 🙂

    1.    Silvia said

Carmen, perhaps it is not very clear explained but both times you have to put baking paper. The same role. I meant that we turn over the lid, remove the paper from the lid and put it back on the varoma tray to dump the tortilla over it.

I do not know if I have already removed the doubt or I have left you with more….

      1.    Carmen said

Everything cleared up, thank you very much !!!

  6.   George said

I have done it, but Silvia, the potato omelettes, the old one, like your grandmother's, here at the Thermonic, then no.
And look that there are classic recipes that are delicious, such as Torrijas, Fried Milk, Rice with Soy Milk, Blue Cheese Croquettes with Quince Sauce and many others that you are delighting me, in short, many of the ones you put , but ……… .the Torilla de Patatas !!, Well, no and also, one does not earn much in time either. It's like that other potato chip.
Anyway, Silvia, it's great to learn from you and again I remind you of some recipes for Chestnuts. Please!!!

    1.    Silvia said

Well Jorge, the truth is that I agree with you, it is not like the traditional one, that of our grandmothers will always be better.

I will look for a recipe for chestnuts, but right now I don't have any.

    2.    Silvia said

Jorge, I have found you a recipe for chestnuts from my dear friend Elena. I hope you like it. http://www.misthermorecetas.com/2011/11/08/tarta-de-castanas/

  7.   satisfies said

Buff, and there's no way I'm cutting the potatoes too ??? because for that, I almost do it with the traditional method ...

  8.   Marisa said

I have been following you for a long time and all the recipes I have made have come out fabulous. Tonight I will try the omelette because with the "Thermo" it does not come out at all well. I hope to get your recipe right. Thank you for so many good and easy things to do.

  9.   Ana said

Hello, I have the TM 21, so where it says spoon speed I suppose I will have to put speed 1, and when it says turn to the left, I suppose I will have to put the butterflies and speed 1, right? I would like to try to do it. Let's see how it turns out. Thank you very much and I love your page.

    1.    Silvia said

Yes Ana, with those changes it will work out for you.

  10.   marian said

I made it, and the truth is that it has nothing to do with the traditional omelette. And the time is not shortened either. My opinion is that it is not worth doing it with the Thermomix at all.

  11.   ana said

Hello, it came out like a mashed potato for me when the butterfly minutes have finished.

have I done something wrong ?????

    Thank you

    1.    Silvia said

It depends a lot on the type of potato, some of them fall apart, cut them a little thicker, let's see what happens next time.

    2.    patricia said

Hello everyone, it is the first time I write. I say that I love this page, it is the one that I visit the most since I have the thermomix, about 2 months. I am delighted.
Yesterday I decided to make a potato omelette for dinner, but my joy in a well. I lost the potato so much, that I finally made a puree, hahaha. I made some cheeses and a little milk and nutmeg and marching. true, with the flavor of onion ..

  12.   lucia said

The times that I have done it, the potatoes remain a bit hard and even if I have them for longer, I do not solve the problem, they even tend to harden more. Can someone give me a solution? Thanks

    1.    Silvia said

Lucia make them finite by cutting them. I believe that thin even if you are careless they can be pureed. Be careful. They also depend a lot on the type of potatoes. Some harden quickly.

  13.   George said

Lucy!!! Maybe you chop the potatoes more, but don't let them puree.

  14.   Alba said

It happens to me like other people ... the potato omelette and the thermomix do not seem compatible ...

It is almost a sacrilege! he he

    1.    Silvia said

Yes, Alba, however comfortable it may be for us to do it in the thermomix, as the usual ones do not remain. But about tastes, the colors !!

      All the best

I LOVE THE POTATO TORTILLA I THINK IT MUST BE VERY GOOD. BUT EVEN THOUGH IT TAKES A LITTLE LONGER, I LIKE THE TRADITIONAL

  16.   sonia said

I just did it and it turned out perfect! If my husband says it's good, it is.

    1.    Mayra Fernandez Joglar said

      Hello Sonia,

The truth is that the Thermomix does not disappoint, right?

We are glad that you have stayed for note !!

      Kisses!

  17.   Carmen said

This recipe is simply great, the potato tortillas have never turned out well for me and since I make it like that, I have won where I take it, no one believes that it is from thermomix, it is much better than many that traditionally make, thank you very much for all these recipes .

  18.   María said

  19.   montse said

The truth is that they are very tasty, we like how they are and in terms of time it does not shorten but at least the ceramic hob does not get so dirty, hee hee hee. All the best!

  20.   Jordi said

Good Morning. Is baking paper necessary or essential? I mean, could it be done with silver foil? Thanks.

    1.    Irene Thermorecetas said

Hi Jordi, I think that baking paper is more recommended because that way it won't stick to the egg. I've never tried it with albal paper, but I think it would stick. Anyway, if you dare, tell us, okay?

  21.   Monika said

    Hi everyone@,

The potatoes come out well for me, the problem I have is that the omelette is not finished, that is to say that the egg does not curdle, and when time has passed, I will turn it around ... Well, I fell part of the egg, etc ... Can you tell me what the problem may be? Thanks!

    1.    Irene Thermorecetas said

Make sure, Mónika, that you leave some free space in the Varoma so that the steam comes out well. Surely that way, they are done to you. Lucky!

  22.   Noelia Sanchez said

I just made the omelette. The first thing is that the potatoes are not one hundred percent done and finally I have lacked eggs because I see many potatoes but few eggs…. this recipe has disappointed me a bit.

    1.    Irene Arcas said

Hello Noelia, how sorry I am. The point of the potato is related to the type of potato we use. There are some varieties that are special for cooking and that soften much earlier than others and also depending on how new or old they are. So I recommend that you try them next time and see if they need more cooking time.

As for the number of eggs, it also depends on the size of the eggs. In other words, there are very very small eggs that are almost like two of the XXL ones. Let's say that the approximate proportion is for a potato as big as a fist we would put an XXL egg.

I hope it will be better for you next time. Thank you for writing us and for making our recipes!

      1.    Noelia Sanchez said

Thank you very much for your answer. I would like that in next recipes you give more information like these because I have just entered the world of cooking and of course, there are many things that I do not understand. Thank you so much!! greetings!!!

I would like to know, if I can make it without onion, and keep the recipe the same. Thank you

    1.    Irene Arcas said

Hello Helena, you would have to add the oil and then the potatoes and follow the recipe in the same way from the second paragraph. You will tell us! All the best.

  28.   lucia said

I just made the recipe exactly as it is here, curdling in the pan, and although it is true that it is not as rich as the traditional tortilla, I am delighted with the result. It was good and I have not stained almost anything, which is greatly appreciated during the week. Thanks for the recipe and for the web, it is a great help!

Thank you Adolfo for your comment.
      A hug!

  31.   cross said

Well, I just made it, we have not tried it yet but the pint is great, as some of you wrote that you had the potato as pure, what I did was reduce the speed by 1 to a spoon and control the cooking every little bit ... so the potatoes remained perfect. and that's if I added one more egg because being homemade they are small.

  32.   Rocio said

Hi! I'm making the omelette and I read the comments a bit late! Since the potatoes have been like puree ... it gives me a bit of fatigue but I go to the end. Since I have the tortilla mold, I have put it in the varoma. What I don't know is how I'm going to turn it around hehehe. Later I will continue to tell you! Thank you
