Rice, carrot and potato

If you like the intense flavor of marinades, you will love today's salad. In this rice salad our cereal is cooked in the basket, inside the glass, in a mixture of water and vinegar. During that cooking time, the potato and carrot that we will have put in the varoma will also be cooked.

Hence its intense flavor, because we will use a mixture of water and vinegar for cooking. That you are not much of pickles? Well, do not put vinegar and replace it with more water.

To give it a fresh touch I have put a few pieces of natural tomato. Also some canned mussels that, of course, can be substituted for tuna.

Ingredients

  • 1350 g of water
  • 150g white wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 290 g of steamed rice
  • 140 g carrot, peeled and sliced
  • 200 g potato peeled and diced
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 Tomate
  • Canned mussels (or tuna...)
  • Olive oil

Preparation

  1. We weighed the rice and reserved it.

  2. Put the water, vinegar and salt in the glass. We close by putting the basket in place of the beaker. we program 12 minutes, 100º, speed 1.

  3. We take advantage of that time to peel and cut the potato into cubes. Peel and slice the carrot. We put both ingredients in the varoma container.

  4. When the programmed time is up, we put the basket inside the glass and add the already heavy rice. We place the lid and, on it, the varoma container, also with its lid. we program 10 minutes, varoma temperature, speed 5.

  5. When the programmed time is up, we carefully open the lid of the varoma. We place the varoma tray and, in it, the two eggs. Put the varoma lid back on and program 10 minutes, varoma temperature, speed 5.

  6. We pass the rice under cold water. Also potato and carrot. We put everything in a large container. Peel the eggs, chop them and add them to the mixture.

  7. Chop the tomato and add it too.

  8. We now add the mussels or preserves that we want to put (tuna, mackerel... or even peas or corn)

  9. Add a drizzle of olive oil and mix.

  10. Store in the refrigerator and serve cold.
