Almond milk

almond-milkthermorecetas

Even though it's December and everything revolves around Christmas, I'm still looking for my vegetable drink favorite. So this time I have launched with the almond milk.

Preparing it at home is very simple, so if you are vegan or lactose intolerant you no longer have excuses. It is also very economical because with only 100 g you have for 1 liter of vegetable almond drink.

The good thing about it is that nothing is thrown away. We can use the soaking water to water our plants and the okara to make other recipes.

What is okara? At first, the soy pulp that remains in the filter when vegetable milk is prepared is called okara. Today there is already talk of almond okara or cashew okara depending on the ingredients used to make the drink. Okara itself is tasteless but is a fantastic ingredients for other preparations.

La rice milk that we prepared a few weeks ago barely has okara but with this almond milk you will have enough okara to make a delicious cookies I'll show you in a few days ... stay tuned !!

Hello syrup, where do I find it? Can it be replaced by something else?

    1.    Elementary proficiency said

You can put any sugar or sweetener.
Only the agave is natural; You can find it in any herbalist, Carrefour and Aldi.
But you can also put honey, panela, brown sugar, etc.
I don't put anything on it, and I make it to the girls for breakfast with cocoa.

      Okay thank you very much!

Personally I prefer to substitute it for soft honey than for sugar. It is healthier !!

You can find it in almost all supermarkets. You can also look at organic or herbal stores.

Hello, how much brown sugar would you add?

    1.    Mayra Fernandez Joglar said

      Hi Yolanda:

You can put about 15 grams but remember that it will cloud your milk and it will not be as white as in the photo.

      Greetings.

It says 130 calories per serving. If you do not specify quantity, does it refer to the liter of milk?

    Thank you

    1.    Mayra Fernandez Joglar said

      Hello Maria:

Calories are for every 200 ml or glass. With these quantities, 5 servings come out.

I have modified the recipe to make it clearer.

      Thank you!!
