Galician chard

We continue with the plan light meals after Christmas, so today we are going to prepare some Galician chard, as they prepare it in the house of my in-laws, like good Galicians they are, but adapted to the thermomix.

You will see how simple they are. You can make my recipe by changing the chard for spinach or green beans.

Delicious chard prepared in the Galician style, all steamed and washed down with an authentic Galician refrito.

Ingredients

  • 200 g of clean chard
  • 2 large potatoes
  • 1000 g of water
  • 4 garlic cloves, sliced
  • 100 g of extra virgin olive oil
  • paprika to taste
  • shawl

Preparation

  1. We put the water and a pinch of salt in the glass.

  2. We place the potatoes in the basket cut into squares and the chard in the varoma container.

  3. We program 20 minutes, varoma temperature, speed 2. We check the point of the potatoes by pricking them with a knife. If they are not yet tender, we program a few more minutes.

  4. We remove the basket and the varoma container and remove the water from the glass.

  5. We dry the glass well and add the oil, along with the garlic. We program 3 minutes, varoma temperature, spoon speed.

  6. Without setting the temperature, add a good tablespoon of red paprika and set speed 1, 10 seconds.

  7. We put the potatoes and chard on a tray and add the refrito on top.
