The other day I made a cake with Genoese sponge cake and some cuts were left over. I didn't really know what to do with them until it occurred to me to make a bread pudding but with the cuttings.
The ingredients are very simple; milk, eggs, sugar and trimmings. Also, to give it a touch something special I added some chocolate chips. I put everything in the Varoma to cook and in 40 minutes I had a delicious pudding!
This recipe could be made with muffins or any cake that is running dry. This is a recipe for use!
As you will see in the ingredients, milk is Without lactose but nevertheless chocolate does contain milk ... so if you are allergic, use the chocolate that you can drink or substitute it for some raisins.
Genovés Sponge Cake Pudding
A perfect recipe to take advantage of all the pieces of Genoese sponge cake or muffins.

Why is lactose-free milk used? Thanks
Hello Mary,
I use this type of milk because my husband is lactose intolerant. But, of course, you can use whole or semi milk.

Just great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would like to know what mold you have so that it can be put in the Varoma and also closed.
Hi Esther,
Well, you won't believe it but I have a lot of molds and the best one to make this recipe is a glass mold, I think it's from the Pyrex brand that has another glass lid. It is elongated and narrow so it fits perfectly in the Varoma.
kisses!
Thank you, Mayra, for this recipe because I love making Genovese sponge cake, but I always have a lot left over and I feel sad… ..
I have used the leftovers to make custard, but it did not have much acceptance, so I love this option!
Hello Ester Pérez,
The same thing happened to me and with this recipe I can assure you that there are not even crumbs left!
You will tell me!
Kisses,
Mayra, what a wonderful recipe to take advantage of the remains of pastries that we have left at home. I have to try it to see how it works.
A kiss
Hello Silvia,
You will tell me, although it could not be easier !!
