Moorish dumplings

arabic dumplings

Today I present you some Moorish style dumplings, which, as you will see from the photo, are a bit improvised. Suddenly, we were invited almost by surprise and we had little margin to prepare anything, so we invented these dumplings taking advantage of the fact that we had chicken and wafers. I did not think to publish them, but they were so rich that although the photo is not the most beautiful, it is worth trying them.

    Good morning, namesake:

The truth is that normally I love the recipes you publish and of course this couldn't be less. I love Arab food, and one of my favorite dishes is the Moorish pastry, so I'm sure these dumplings are going to blow my mind.
I hope to do them soon.
    All the best.

I would like to know what wafers are used, if purchased or with homemade dough. The recipe looks great and I would like to make it. I have tried quite a few dishes published and I have loved them, since they turn out well the first time, and I have succeeded at home. Thank you

Hello Marihoce, they are purchased wafers 🙂

And the dates, tomato and onion, when do you use it?

Could you tell me when to put the ingredients: dates, tomatoes, onion thanks

    1.    Irene Arcas said

Indeed I forgot to put it. All these ingredients are added just after sautéing the chicken. Thanks for advising! 🙂 It is already corrected.

Hi! I never find the ras al hanout, can it be replaced or not put?

    1.    Irene Arcas said

Hello Maribel, in specialized Arabic food stores or online. 🙂

GOOD MORNING, I JUST BUY RAS HANOUT IN A MOROCCAN STORE IN MY TOWN AND THE COMPOSITION SHOWS: CURCUMA, CURRY, CILANTRO, SALT, CAYENA MOLINA AND CORN FLOUR JUST IF IT HELPS YOU. A GREETING.

        1.    Irene Arcas said

Indeed, ras al hanout is a mixture of the best spices that the master spice maker has in his shop. In fact, it is said that no ras al hanout is the same as another, because it is a mixture made immediately by the owner of the spices, hence its grace and appeal. I hope you like them!

    2.    Irene Arcas said

Yes, you can replace it with a little of all these spices or those you have at home: curry, cumin, turmeric, cinnamon, pepper, star anise powder ...

Thanks to both of you. M
