Mustard and sauce lovers? Today we bring you a simple recipe, one of those of a lifetime, but with a different touch: Russian salad with mustard. 

The good thing about this recipe is that we can use the type of mustard that we like the most, because as we told you the other day in this compilation of recipes with mustard, there are different varieties of intensity and flavor. The recipe that we leave you today we could say that it has an intensity 7/10 of mustard flavor. From there you can substitute a softer variety and, of course, reduce the amount.

It is a recipe designed for when we have little timeso let's do the quick preparation of the salad where we already have all the chopped vegetables and we are simply going to steam them.

The important thing about this recipe today is the mustard mayonnaise sauce. The rest we are going to prepare very easily. But, of course, adapt it to your favorite tastes and ingredients ☺️

We prepare a quick version of the traditional Russian salad, but with a different touch in the sauce: mustard mayonnaise.

Ingredients

MUSTARD MAYONNAISE

  • 200 g of sunflower oil
  • the oil from the 2 cans of tuna
  • 1 egg
  • a splash of lemon juice or vinegar
  • 3-4 tablespoons sweet mustard
  • 1 tablespoon old-fashioned mustard
  • 1 / 2 teaspoon salt
  • a pinch of freshly ground black or white pepper

SALAD

  • 600 g potatoes, cut into small cubes
  • 150 g carrot, diced
  • 100 g frozen peas
  • 4 eggs
  • 60 g of pitted olives
  • 600 g of water
  • 2 small cans of tuna (well drained)
  • 300 g mustard mayonnaise sauce
  • Sal Island
  • chives for garnish
  • salt flakes to decorate

Preparation

  1. Mustard mayonnaise:

    Put a jar on the mixing bowl lid and weigh the sunflower oil into it and also add the oil from the tuna cans. We booked.

  2. Put the egg, lemon juice, mustard, pepper and salt in the glass. We mix 1 min 30 sec/speed 4.

     

  3. We put the machine at speed 4 without time and, with the beaker on, slowly pour the oil over the lid, letting it fall in a very fine thread around the beaker to achieve an emulsion.

     

  4. Pour the mayonnaise into a container and store it in the fridge while we prepare the salad.

  5. Russian salad

    Prepare the potatoes, carrot and peas and place them in the varoma container.

  6. We pour the water into the glass and introduce the basket placing the eggs inside. We put the varoma in its position and program 28 minutes, varoma temperature, speed 2.

  7. We remove the varoma container, put the eggs in cold water and let them cool while we put the varoma vegetables in a large bowl. Season to taste and let cool.

  8. Peel the eggs, put them in the glass with the olives and chop 2 seconds, speed 4.

  9. We add this mixture to the vegetables together with the shredded tuna and 200 g of mayonnaise sauce. We mix everything well.

  10. We cover with the rest of the mayonnaise to taste and decorate our taste with chives and salt flakes.

    We can serve it on rolls (in my case we have used Quelitas).
