Strawberry jam

Thermomix recipe Strawberry jam

With this strawberry jam you can keep all the taste and color of spring. And enjoy its flavor throughout the year.

The good thing about jams and preserves homemade is that they are simple to do and they do not contain artificial colors or preservatives.

The truth is that this strawberry jam always It brings back memories. I still remember the first time I did it with Thermomix®. It was going to be Father's Day and my princesses had been preparing some little gifts. But my oldest was eager to make some more surprises, so I suggested they make a special breakfast dad. They had loved the idea until we realized that their favorite jam was gone. We quickly began to make this strawberry jam and, honestly, I don't know if it was because of the strawberries or because of the beautiful moment of cooking together, but we got a very good jam.

Regards aside, the most difficult thing about jams is to get the perfect texture. But here you have a couple of Tricks that work very well.

Tricks to get a perfect texture

When preparing jams with Thermomix® is to remove the cup to facilitate evaporation.

The solution to avoid staining the entire kitchen is to put the basket on top of the lid, so you prevent splashing.

And, if at the end of the time the jam is very liquid, you can add 1 sheet of neutral gelatin. You just have to hydrate the sheet in cold water for a couple of minutes. When it is soft, drain well and add to the glass. It is programmed another 3 minutes at the same temperature and speed.

It is also important to remember that as the jams cool they become more solid.

First of all tell you that thanks to vsoras I am reawakening the thermomix.
You can use raspberries instead of strawberries, or you have to add some more ingredient in this case.
    Thanks you are great.

    1.    Silvia said

In principle, there is no problem because you change the main ingredient. Even so, look at the rest of the jams that we have published in case you make a medley of all of them.
I just made blackberry jam with another recipe and it also comes out phenomenal.

Hello, first of all I want to thank you for as much help as you give us, and I wanted to tell you that I have made the strawberry jam twice and I have pieces that I have verified that they are from the lemon, and I would like you to tell me how I could avoid this

    1.    Silvia said

Put a few more seconds to crush it at the beginning, and you will not notice the lemon.

Hello, I had never dared to make jam, neither with the thermo nor without it, on Friday I made it and we have spent the weekend eating jam !!: for breakfast, for lunch, for dinner, etc, etc. It is the danger of your recipes, they come out so well that it is very difficult to hold back. Thanks again. Greetings.

I just made it this afternoon and you're right, you can't stop taking it at all hours, because I've already tried it for dinner with a slice of pipe bread.

Hi, I'm new to this page, I would like to see the speed varoma what speed is in previous thermomix, I have it for 20 years, and I have it as the first day, so I do not buy the new one, and I really like to cook with it, but I see that these recipes are all the new ones, please answer me.

    1.    Silvia said

The varoma speed is the highest that your thermomix has, so that the liquid evaporates and thickens the recipe.

  5.   cello said

Hello first, thank you for your recipes, since since I have known you I am really using the thermomix. My question is my distributor has told me that to make me have the thickest jam I can add an apple to the strawberries. A kiss and a greeting.

  6.   Silvia said

Chelo, it is true that there are people who add an apple to thicken it, although lately I am doing it a bit varied, I love experimenting with my robot and it is working out very well. I put the strawberries and add a teaspoon of lemon, instead of whole. Then I program about 35 minutes and instead of placing the cup on top, I put the basket and thus I get the liquid to evaporate and without apple or anything it is perfect. And no gelatin or anything.

    Hello Silvia,
Thank you very much for these delicious recipes !!!
Thanks to you I am going to encourage myself to make the strawberry jam this afternoon.
Have you tried to make it with sweetener? how is it
I make the fried tomato with moderate sweetener and it looks great, what hadn't occurred to me is to separate it into 2 jars and put it in a vacuum, so you have no problem thinking that it spoils.
    Thank you very much again!

    1.    Silvia said

Yes Belén, I prepare it with moderate sweetener, I put 500 grams of strawberries, 80 grams of moderate sweetener and a tablespoon of lemon juice. The only thing is that he left it long enough, about 35 minutes, varoma, vel. 2 so the liquid evaporates well and is perfect.

how rich! congratulations on the recipe. I had some strawberries at home and with half the ingredients I made the jam, I got a jar of about 400gr. (and has almost flown already). At first it seemed to me that it was very liquid, but once cold it is a perfect texture with a delicious flavor and on top! Natural !.
congratulations really. Please I have my boy's communion this year, and it can't be with these recipes. some light recipe already by fi. Greetings

    1.    Silvia said

Silvia, I recommend that you look at the recipe by recipe index there and a few that I usually do a lot for diets, such as the full plate of varoma, fish in papillote and many vegetables. I encourage you still have time to get very pretty for communion.

  9.   Belén said

Thank you very much Silvia, I am going to try to make it with and without sugar, so we have something for all tastes, I'll tell you about it.
One doubt, yesterday I tried to put a tomato pot in a vacuum and I put it in a bain-marie, but how long do I have to leave it? how far does the water have to cover? And how do I know that it has been left empty?
It seems important to me because I have an idea of making various jams ...
Thank you very much for your advice !!!

    1.    Silvia said

I think it's about twenty minutes in the water bath. I usually make the jam and prepare some glass jars with water up to the top, I put them in the microwave and put them to heat for about 3 minutes, then I throw the water over the lids to eliminate any bacteria to prevent them from turning later. Then I put the jam in the jar and let it cool a little, the jam goes down a bit and I refill the jar to the top, then I close it and leave it turned around for about 24 hours. Unopened it lasts about 6 months and a couple in the fridge.

  10.   Belen said

I did it and wonderful !!!! Q success, the children eat it with toast, with yogurt, etc.
    Thank you so much!

    1.    Silvia said

I am very glad Belén that you liked it. We are also having it for breakfast every day.

  11.   m.luisa said

Hi Silvia, a couple of days ago I made the strawberry jam but this time it has been too liquid. It is already cold in jars and in the refrigerator, do you think it should be put in a varoma for 10-15 minutes to thicken it a bit. Thank you very much for your help. Greetings.

    1.    Silvia said

      M. Luisa if you have been so liquid that you cannot use it, I would put it back in the thermomix glass and you can even add a sheet of neutral gelatin to see if it helps you thicken.

      1.    m.luisa said

        Thank you very much Silvia

  12.   mamiavila said

I just made it and I think it must be very good, like all your recipes !!!! I have a little doubt? Firstly, the gelatin in sheet is put a little in cold water before adding it, right? Muxas thanks for your work !!!

    1.    Silvia said

If the gelatin in sheet before it is necessary to put it in cold water. Anyway, lately I have been preparing this jam again and putting it without a beaker for about 30 minutes, it comes out just right, it is not liquid and the gelatin is not necessary.

  13.   mamiavila said

Thank you very much !!!! next time I will do it like this !!!!

  14.   ANNA 5 said

Hello girls, I love your blog. Lately with the jams or they come out very thick or liquid, sometimes I make a teaspoon of agar-agar powder, when they finish cooking I wonder if they will be good or not, to see if you can give me a trick. Kisses.

    1.    Silvia said

Ana, lately when I make my jams, I usually put a teaspoon of lemon juice in it, crush it and program 30 minutes, varoma temperature, speed 1 and 1/2. But I don't put the goblet, I put the basket on top so that the jam evaporates well.
Try to see how it works for you.

      1.    ANNA 5 said

Hello Silvia, thank you for answering me, I made cherry and apricot jam and the truth is that they came out well in texture, the strawberries I have blunted and they are liquid for 1 month, I do not know if to throw them away or I am going to test putting them in the thermos and leave them a little longer. Now that there are no strawberries, have you tried the frozen ones?
It is for testing. Thanks and a hug.

        1.    Silvia said

The truth is that with frozen I have not tried but it would be a matter of putting. If you try tell us.

Hello! I wanted to ask you a question regarding jams. I recently made blackberry jam by varying the recipe a bit. I left a kilo of blackberries to marinate with half a kilo of sugar and the juice of a lemon for a day. Then I followed the instructions of the jam recipe and the truth is that it was yummy. Now they have given me a kilo of raspberries and I would like to try to make jam with them, should I follow the mechanics of blackberries or this same one for strawberries? It is that half a kilo of sugar with half a kilo of fruit makes me too sweet :(. What do you think? Thank you very much in advance and thanks more for these delicious recipes that you share with us, chapeau.

    1.    Silvia said

The truth is that you can always reduce the amount of sugar a little, especially if you do not have a sweet tooth and the jams are great.

  16.   Ana Victoria said

Hi, it can be made with frozen strawberries, do you have to defrost them first?
I have made figs and plums but it comes out very liquid that I can make, they taste very good. Thank you.

    1.    Silvia said

Ana I have not tried, really. Maybe it can be done, but when they thaw they release more water. It will be necessary to put them in a few more minutes and from the beginning remove the cup and put the basket on top so that it evaporates better.

Hello, I am from Spain and I have brought the thermomis to Argentina which is where I live now, but I did not bring the recipe books because they did not fit in my suitcases, each recipe I look at is all with the new machine and I have two Older models with which for example I have neither varoma temperature nor spoon speed, how do I do? when you put that in a recipe, thank you very much a kiss

Hi Silvia, I'm making the jam right now. I have added more strawberries than the recipe says and the rest, the same. I have the whole house flooded with a strawberry scent… My husband says it smells great. Let's see how it turns out! There are about 6 minutes left and I already have the jars ready. By the way, as I have a 4-month-old baby, I have sterilized the cans in the sterilizer of the bibs, I hope nothing happens. Kisses and ... thanks for your recipe!

  19.   Cristina said

Oh, Silvia !! I don't know what happened but it came out too sweet for my taste. I have added 650 g of strawberries and 430 g of sugar, what could have happened? how do I solve it?
    Thanks in advance.

I can put fructose on it

    1.    Irene Thermorecetas said

Of course! You can substitute it with fructose without any problem. You will have to look at the equivalences on the package, according to the manufacturer's instructions.
