Artichokes with potatoes and ham

artichokes-with-ham-and-potatoes

Here is a very simple way to cook artichokes, with ingredients from walking around the house.

The artichoke is a vegetable rich in phosphorus, iron and calcium, with vitamins A, B and C and and low calorie. Supports a endless preparations. This time we will make them stewed, with potatoes, but they can also be made with rice, stewed with lemon and even fried. And the outer leaves can be used to prepare the purifying broth that Mayra taught us.

Come on, let's go with today's recipe.

    Hello,
One question, what do we do with the water and the lemon? Is it to put the artichokes before cooking them inside? How long do they have to stay? Thank you

      Hello Caroline,
The water with lemon is to be putting the artichokes while we are cleaning them. This way we avoid that in that time they rust.
At the moment in which the recipe says to put the artichokes in the glass, strain them (that water will not do) and put them drained.
I just clarified it in the recipe so there is no confusion.
      Thank you!
      A hug

I have a package of frozen artichokes cut into pieces, can I adapt them to this recipe? how do i do it? Thank you!

    1.    Ascen Jimenez said

Sure! What I would do would be to defrost them first and drain them well to be able to follow the recipe as indicated.
      A hug!
