Broad beans with paprika from La Vera

Broad beans with paprika from La Vera

Today we have a healthy dish and one of those that we do not eat regularly (at least at home). They are lima beans sautéed.

Those of you from the Mediterranean will surely know this legume well enough. In any case, we can all find it in the supermarket in the frozen section.

This time we cook them with paprika, that seasoning with smoky flavor and so special color, and we accompany it with a roll that Parmesan cheese gratin in the oven (in this recipe of Strawberry gazpacho you can see how it's done).

And another suggestion, these beans can also serve as accompaniment to any meat, what do you think?

Without a doubt, a light dish with a lot of personality that is made in a very short time. Of course, when it is done, serve it immediately and ... enjoy!

We consume some beans that come in a glass jar.
Since they are not frozen, nor do they have a pod, I imagine that the preparation time is less than 20 minutes, right?
    Thanks for your recipes.

      Hello, Martha,
I've never seen them like this. The preparation time would be less, as you say. Program for example 10 minutes and after this time you open the lid to see if they are the way you like them. If they are missing, schedule a few more minutes. You'll tell me how they look on you.
      Thank you for following us!

Yes, that is what I do other times when I am hesitant with the timing, it will always be better to reprogram than to puree !!! he he. Thanks again. I will keep you informed.
So far I have cooked them in a sautéed casserole with a few cubes of ham, and they are done right away; in fact, they can be added to salads right out of the jar. They are called HABAS BABY, they are from the «amalur» brand and they come in a 425 gr jar. (drained weight)

From what you say they are already cooked ... I would try to make them by putting only 50 grams of water and cooking them for only 5 minutes. Let's see how the experiment was going!

Hi buddy !! My mother, who is from Granada, makes them a lot at home with fried eggs and Serrano ham. It is not one of my favorite dishes, but at my house they enjoy it a lot. Kisses.

Well, they have to be very tasty. If no one cooks better than moms ... Kisses!

How good they look! As tomorrow I will buy, I write down the frozen beans to make them this weekend. With fried eggs.
    Greetings 😉
