Today we are going to prepare a condiment that I did not know: caper powder. We can use it to flavor our salads or to give a special touch to the best pasta dishes.

We will only need capers in salt. We are going to desalt them and then dry them. The last step will be to crush them, how could it be otherwise, in our Thermomix.

So that you can try how it looks, I suggest this cherry tomato paste, oil and garlic. Because of its simplicity it is one of my favorites. Put it at the end about pasta, when it is on the plate.

A special seasoning with a flavorful ingredient: capers in salt. Ideal for salads, rice dishes or pasta dishes.

Ingredients

  • 75 g of capers in salt

Preparation

  1. We put the capers in our basket and wash them under the tap, under the stream of cold water.

  2. We put them in a bowl with water, also from the tap. We will have them there for approximately 1 hour.

  3. After that time we drain them in the basket.

  4. We now put them on absorbent paper (kitchen paper) to remove excess water.

  5. We put them on a baking tray and bake them at 180º for 10 or 20 minutes, until we see that they are dry.

  6. We take them out of the oven and, after a few minutes, we crush them by putting them in the thermomix glass and programming a few seconds in progressive speed 5-9.
