Cheese bats

Cheese bats. Or birds, as my kids say. They are very funny and they are very rich. Its elaboration is very simple and, together with the spider eggs and rice balls, can form the salty snack from the table of Halloween.

Come on, we already have the Halloween night. There are only two nights left….

Cheese balls with almonds and olives, to take with Doritos or nachos, which form a funny bat ideal for the Halloween aperitif.

Ingredients

  • 100g uncle Philadelphia cheese spread.
  • 70 g of roasted peeled almonds.
  • Black olives (about 10).
  • poppy seeds: they are to coat the balls, we can also use a substitute for caviar (to make them black), or crushed doritos (golden bats), or the same crushed almonds (white).
  • Doritos or similar (I used Doritos Tex Mex).

Preparation

  1. We crush the almonds during 15 seconds at speed 5 (If you are going to coat with almonds, add 25 gr more and grind 5 in 5 seconds until you get the right texture and reserve a small amount for the coating, then continue with the rest until completing the 15 seconds).

  2. We add the cheese and mix everything during 5 seconds at speed 5.

  3. We form the balls with the mixture, cut the olives into thick slices (2 per ball), coat the balls with the poppy seeds (or the chosen option).

  4. We put two slices of olives as eyes and two tips of Doritos (whole they are very large) as wings.

  5. And we already have our birds / bats.

    hehehe I made these on the 31st for Halloween and the truth is that they are very attractive. I put them with more doritos because if not the cheese bowl there was no way to pass it lol. But they are very nice.
