Chili beans or chili con carne

chilli_beans

Although it is true that in Spain we have a unique cuisine, we must never forget the exquisite recipes that we can find in the rest of the world, so do not forget to surprise your guests with our section of international recipes Today I present you a very tasty Mexican dish: Chili and meat.

Although it is true that its origin is not very clear, what we do know is that it is very typical of the tex-mex cuisine and that it has already crossed borders and is known throughout the world. It is a spicy and very tasty stew from minced meat with red beans, that accompanied by white rice or Mexican tortillas is delicious and makes a very complete second dish.

In addition, we will soon publish another delicious recipe of Nacho Males in which we will use this preparation, so if you have enough, you already have an idea of how to use it as well. Of course, you can freeze and can be prepared in advance.

Just point out that this dish is not Mexican, it is from the southern United States. As it contains beans, it is assumed that it is from my country but it is not. For the rest I really like all the recipes that you publish

Thank you for your message Elzocalito. In fact, in the introduction we have since it is a Tex-Mex recipe, not Mexican, although I do not know if that term is confusing or we are defining a type of cuisine more from the southern United States. Thanks for the clarification! We are glad that you like our recipes. All the best.

Hi! A few days ago I prepared this recipe and it was delicious, but it happened to me that it was left with a lot of liquid, it almost looked like a soup. I followed the recipe to the letter. The only thing I see is that it has a lot of liquid, like a pint of meat broth.
I don't know why it was like that….

    1.    Irene Arcas said

Hello Virginia, and when it cooled it did not thicken? It is that to make it juicy, when it is finished it has a lot of liquid, which then when cooling and keeping it from one day to the next should be absorbed. If you want, next time, reduce the broth by half and if during cooking you see that it has become too dry, add more so that it does not stick. Thanks for your comment! And I am very glad that you liked it. A hug 😉

Hi! Thanks for your comment. The truth is that I did it for a dinner with friends and I did it the same night hehe
For the next time I will put less broth and try to do it more in advance
        Thank you very much

Thanks to you Virginia, anyway, remember that you can always add broth during cooking if you see that it is very dry or remove the cup if you see that it has too much broth to evaporate more. Many times, it all depends on the type of meat, the type of broth ... here we give amounts that have worked for us, but we know that it may depend on the brands or products that are used. You'll tell me how they look on you, okay ?! And remember that they can be frozen 😉

Thanks!!! For the next time I will add less broth and I will not put a beaker to evaporate, and control it. I'm sure I will do it again along with the nachos! My friends loved them !!

What a disappointment xd… .. I make the chili con carne in a traditional way but this time I decided to try the thermomix and a disaster …… it's more of a soup 🙁 the meat totally undone ufffff. For my taste, it has plenty of broth, it lacks beans and I would put the butterfly in it to mix well …… have the next time ……… today my joy in a well.

Hello Toes, as I mentioned to another reader who had the same problem, when they cool the broth it thickens and it does not remain like soup. Anyway, I'm going to reduce the amount of broth so that doesn't happen. And like everything, it goes in taste, next time you can add more beans and remove broth. Sorry you didn't like it very much… try the mods again! You will see how you like it more this time. A kiss and thanks for writing us. 🙂

Today I tried the recipe and it was a failure 🙁 it happened to me like others who have commented, the meat was totally discarded and it looked like a soup, it was also very bland. In my opinion, it is usual to cook to eat right after, if this is not the case, a warning should be placed at the beginning in the instructions

Hello Dani, I am very sorry that you have had so much broth. We have once again reduced the amount of broth and also that of tomato, to see if this is solved. Thanks for advising.

Hello good, yesterday I made the recipe but I made some changes. As I read the comments I thought it would be better to always put spoon speed instead of speed 1 during the whole elaboration. I dispensed with the 150 meat broth and only added a meat broth tablet so that it would not remain excessively liquid, instead the only thing I did was substitute it for crushed tomato, with which at the end I added a 400 crushed tomato can. And I didn't put sugar in it.
I have to say that it came out perfect and very good. The evening was a success.
I hope it helps you. All the best! Thank you so much for the recipe!!
