Creamy black rice with cuttlefish and prawns

Creamy black rice with cuttlefish and prawns

On the weekends I like to prepare rice and taking advantage of the frozen squid ink, I prepared this exquisite honeyed black rice with cuttlefish and prawns. It is ideal to accompany it with a cold celery and tomato soup first and a Napoleon for dessert.

It is a plate for all budgets, so this one that I present to you would be the economical option And, of course, you can add other ingredients such as prawns, lobster, rice prawns, etc. In addition, we will prepare a seafood stock, which of course, you can substitute with already prepared fish or seafood broth.

You can get squid ink in the fishmongers or frozen fish section from the big supermarkets.

Hello Irene, I have made your recipe for the first time having guests at home ... very brave of me, without having cooked it before to try ... It was a success, exquisite !!! Thank you very much for sharing it !! An affectionate kiss.

How good Ana! How glad I am. The truth is that the rices in thermomix are a safe bet 🙂 What a joy that you liked it so much. You know and now ... to cheer up with other rice dishes! I recommend the four cheese risotto (http://www.thermorecetas.com/receta-thermomix-risotto-cuatro-quesos/), creamy rice with prawns (http://www.thermorecetas.com/arroz-meloso-con-gambones/) or arroz a banda (http://www.thermorecetas.com/arroz-a-banda-con-ali-oli/). You will tell me!

What a good looking Irene! Could you do double the amount at once? (For 12 people) Or would I have to do it twice? Thank you so much.

    1.    Irene Arcas said

      Hello Maria Jesus,

Well, the thermo only has the capacity to make rice for 6 people, so for 12 you would have to do it in 2 times ... to advance I recommend that you make the base of the rice for 12 (doubling the amounts) and before adding the rice, divide it into two parts and keep it warm. This will only be to add the rice, cook it, put it in a pot to rest there and while cooking the next rice. It will take about 15 minutes between one rice and another… I don't know if that works for you… Thanks for asking !!

Another option is to make for 6 as a snack, served in teaspoons or small containers and make other appetizers to accompany and complete the meal: flavored aioli with toast, quiches, seafood dishes such as clams a la marinara, prawns a salt ... how do you see it? I would do this second option because that way you guarantee that the rice comes out perfect.

      Kisses!!

What it looks like! I'm looking forward to trying it… A query, in point 3, when you say that you add the liquids… You mean the 300 of water + the 400 d of smoke + the dl lemon?
    Thank you very much

    1.    Irene Arcas said

      Hi Cristina,

Indeed: the liquid from the stock that we made at the beginning, 20 grams of lemon juice and 300 grams of water. Thank you!! I hope you like it 🙂

When I started to make the sauce, I suffered in case it wasn't going to look good and with so little smoke ...
But it was terrific. Out of 10. Thanks for the recipe.
