This dessert is a tradition in the cuisine of Castilla y León. When you eat one, you can't stop having another and another, thanks to its flavor and crunchy touch.

It's a Very cheap and typical dish for Carnival or Holy Week. It is worth knowing how to make them, they are a little laborious, but very powerful. There are many units in this simple recipe.

The trick to making them is to make them super fine, since su crunchy texture It is the basis for it being such a great dessert. The typical thing is to flavor them with anise, but if you don't like its flavor, you can eliminate it with a touch of vanilla.

Ingredients

  • 250 g of wheat flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 spoon of sugar
  • The measurement of half a white pomace eggshell
  • The measure of half an eggshell of oil
  • The measure of half an eggshell of orange juice
  • Flavor with two teaspoons of anise or one teaspoon of vanilla essence.
  • Lots of sugar to sprinkle
  • Plenty of sunflower oil for frying

Preparation

  1. In our glass, we add the liquid ingredients: the egg, the measure of half an egg shell of orange juice, the measure of half an egg shell of oil, the measure of half an egg shell of white pomace. We program it 30 seconds at speed 4,5.

  2. We add the 250 g of wheat flour and the tablespoon of sugar. We program it 2 minutes at kneading speed.

  3. Depending on the ingredients, the dough may be too dry. This has been my case, where I have had to add two tablespoons of water and knead it again, during 1 minute at kneading speed.

  4. We take out the dough on a surface lightly dusted with flour. We take small portions and knead. It is super important that when stretching the dough, it is made as thin as possible. You have to see the dough through the light and leave it super thin.

  5. As we stretch, we heat the oil in a large frying pan. When it gets hot, we add them. It doesn't matter if the heat is high, it will be much better. You have to brown them lightly on each side.

  6. We take them out on a plate and sprinkle with sugar. We let it cool and they can be consumed.
