Orange flan

Easy recipe thermomix Orange Flan

This orange flan is delicious with an intense flavor and a smooth texture ideal for any occasion.

Custards are one of my favorite desserts. They remind me of my childhood, when I went to eat at my grandparents' house. My grandmother, apart from being a great cook, has always made us some delicious puddings.

This, in particular, is a recipe from Rosa, a friend of my mother, with whom we met in a cooking class and she encouraged me to make it. By the way, in that course someone advised accompany it with a scoop of ice cream vanilla… I'll have to try it!

I love this flan and so far I haven't gotten it to come out good, I'm going to try your recipe and I'll tell you about it.
    Kisses.

Alicia, I hope you are lucky and it turns out well, it is very good but with an intense orange flavor. You will tell me…

  2.   Mary Carmen Harfuck said

I already realized this flan and it is hairy!

  3.   Laura said

You will send me a photo of how you assemble the container with the flan mixture inside in the VAroma of the thermomix!

    1.    Silvia said

Laura in the next flan that I make I will take a photo of the montage, but it is very simple.
You place the varoma on your countertop and inside you put the caramelised aluminum mold, then you pour the flan mixture into the mold and cover the mold with the lid that comes or with aluminum foil and cover the mold with enough kitchen paper to soak the steam and after all this you cover the varoma and place it on the glass to start cooking.
      I hope I've brought doubts.
      A greeting!!!

Where can I buy the aluminum container that fits into the varoma?
    Thank you

    1.    Elena said

Hi Pedro, I buy them at Mercadona or Carrefour. I think there are them in any large supermarket. They are from the Albal brand or at Mercadona I think they are from the ITS brand. There are 1l. or 1,5l. capacity. Both are valid for the varoma.

  5.   PEDRO DIAZ DEL CAMPO said

Thanks Elena, I understand then that they are disposable?

    1.    Elena said

Yes, Pedro. There are also muffins. They are very good.

    2.    Silvia said

If Pedro are disposable, and I use them to prepare the custards and puddings, in the varoma and in the oven I also use them to make pipe bread with lidl flours, you try and tell us. All the best

  6.   thermo said

I did it and did not give time or a photo.
The next time I do it and it will be soon for sure I will put the photo for you because finally an orange flan of death came out!
    Thank you.

    Doesn't this flan have milk?

    1.    Elena said

No, it has orange juice. Try it, it is delicious. You will tell me. All the best.

  8.   mari carmen -teruel- said

Before you answered me, I couldn't resist the temptation and I did. When they got to dessert, they didn't want any fruit, just the flan. There are three of us and more than half have already disappeared. Delicious raised to infinity.

  9.   ARY said

Hello, forgive me for my clumsiness but… ..it could not be put in the oven in a bain-marie for example? I don't know, how would it be? Thank you

    1.    Elena said

Hi Ary. Sure enough, that's another way to do it. In a bain-marie, it is also perfect. All the best.

  10.   ary_21_@hotmail.com said

To the bain-marie and how long? thanks and what temperature?

    1.    Elena said

Hello Ary, the time is about 20 minutes and at 210º. You already know that the time depends on the type of oven. Before removing it, prick it with a toothpick and if it comes out clean, it is done. All the best.

Hello girls, I love your blog, I am hooked on it.
I have tried to make this flan and I have loved how fast it is made and how well it curdles in the varoma.
The pity is that I did not like the flavor, the orange came out a lot, but tomorrow I'm going to make the egg and I'll tell you about it.
Thank you very much for your time and continue like this!

    1.    Silvia said

Oh what a shame, the truth is that it does taste a lot like orange. In my house they like it a lot but I prefer the egg one and if you curdle it in the varoma it is also great.
      All the best

Hello Maria del Mar, they are in the recipe. Before writing how it is prepared in the Thermomix we put the ingredients. I hope you like it. All the best.

Hello, I love your recipes, I have already made some and they are very good. Now I was going to make the orange flan and I am very surprised that it does not have any milk. Is the recipe good?

    1.    Silvia said

Yes Ana, this flan does not have milk and juice. If you like orange, try it, it is delicious.
      All the best

Hello Girl, I am also hooked on your recipes, which by the way are delicious. But I would like that in relation to desserts you would also like the amount of granulated sweetener so that people with glucose problems can also eat it. Thank you very much and good luck.

It has to be terrific !!!! I want to do it and I just bought a silicone mold type plum cake. Can that type of mold work for me to make the flan in the varoma? I would cover it with aluminum foil anyway, right? Kisses.Thank you !!

  17.   gisela said

Hello girls !! I want to make the flan and take it to school so that my classmates can try it, but I have a little doubt, when you say that you cover it with kitchen paper, what do you mean? Do you put some papers as is on top of the mold? And another thing, I use a silicone plum cake, do I cover it with aluminum foil too? Thank you.

    1.    Silvia said

Gisela if it is a silicone mold, cover it first with aluminum foil and then put kitchen paper on top of at least about 5 pieces, we put these so that they absorb the steam from the water and do not pass the moisture to the flan. You'll see how the papers are soaked when uncovering it. I hope you like it. All the best

Hello, the truth is that all your recipes come out of the cinema. You are great, a doubt you could tell me the equivalence in cm3 of the orange juice. Thanks

  20.   j said

Y…. Why do not you answer me ….?

  21.   Mamen said

    Hello Silvia
Taking advantage of the time of the orange, that there were many at home and that my husband loves flan… I decided to try this recipe.
Easy and great !!! It was great, although maybe next time I will just add the skin of a grated orange as it left me with an intense orange flavor. It will be a matter of repeating
Although this time it did set ... I also had to put it on almost twice as long and even so when I took it out of the varoma it seems that it opened a little. But this time it was much more presentable than the biscuit, at least I was able to get it out of the mold. (I also did this in the silicone one, covering it with aluminum foil and putting kitchen paper on top)
Thank you very much for your recipes. They are great

It's delicious, I made it and since I wanted to use the thermo to cook something else, I put the flan in the oven in a double boiler, 25 minutes and it was perfect, I would like to know if I want to make it bigger, do I put double amount of everything? Thank you

I made it and this flan is delicious, but since I wanted to use the thermo to cook something else I put it in the oven in a double boiler and in 25 minutes it is ready, I would like to know if I want to make it bigger I put double of everything ? Thank you
