Peas with ham

easy recipe thermomix peas with ham

This recipe is from the Thermomix® book Watch your health. A book that I love for the amount of recipes healthy and healthy what's wrong with it.

Every time I leafed through the book and saw this recipe, I couldn't help but remember my grandfather Esteban. She loved peas and there was no week that went by without dining on this delicious fresh legume.

This time it was our turn for dinner. I did not know that acceptance They would have at home by my little ones, but even so, I wanted to try. I went to the freezer to make sure I would have the main ingredient and "get to work."

It is a plate very simple to prepare. It is one of those, that give me true time to do homework with my girls and at the same time have dinner prepared for them, without just looking at the recipe.

The peas are left with a little broth, just enough to make them tender and juicy. I loved them and my princesses took a bit of cajoling but, in the end, they ate a good plate each. So, I can't complain.

My boy loves peas with ham, so I'm going to surprise him with this wonderful recipe. I have always made them in a traditional way, so it is time to put them in the thermomix. Thanks!

    1.    Silvia said

That is what I thought, Irene, this was my grandfather's favorite recipe and since I like them so much I said: "you have to try putting them in the thermomix" and they are delicious.

This dish is the one that my father makes the best and I love it. So I'm going to try to do it with the thermomix. Just one question: what would the recipe be like if the peas are canned and not frozen?

    1.    Silvia said

Carmen, try to see how the pot peas are, reducing the time of the peas by half, instead of 20 minutes, put it 10 to see if they look good.

  5.   Carmen said

Mm I have to try it with the THM I do it a lot in the traditional way because I love them, I like peas anyway 😀
    regards

    1.    Silvia said

You will see how simple it is to prepare the peas with the thermomix, surely you will no longer do them in the traditional way.

Paula, the truth is that I don't know much about on-base, but look at this link that says many things about being able to do with carrots. http://www.mundorecetas.com/recetas-de-cocina/recetas-postt265671.html

I need help, if I make the recipe for two people and put 250gr of peas.
When we add the peas and it takes 15 min 100 degrees, I will put 8 min 100 degrees
Greetings and I love your page

    1.    Silvia said

Put 12 because they need to be done, or you can put 8 minutes as you comment, try them and upload a minute more.

    Hello
I have made the peas and I really did not like them.
I did it in 20 min, as the recipe says and they were very soupy and a little raw and tasteless, despite adding small frozen peas.
I think this recipe is not worth making in THM.

I follow you and most of the recipes are scrumptious. Thanks.

    1.    Silvia said

I'm sorry that you didn't like it. This recipe is soupy, because that way my daughters eat it better and they remain aldentes, which is how I like vegetables, very whole. If you prefer not to add so much liquid or remove the beaker to evaporate.

Hello girls, I am making them but since I did not have ham in cubes I have added very minced baicon to them, let's see how they come out ...

    1.    Silvia said

Well, surely very rich too !!!

  10.   Mari Carmen said

    Hello,
I have made them just for myself, I have had them for two days but I could not resist, I love peas and no one in my family likes them, and they were delicious.
    A greeting.

I also love this pea recipe and I understand you perfectly. I'm glad you liked it.

Hey girls, can you make this same recipe with green beans too?

    1.    Mayra Fernandez Joglar said

      Hi Maika:

Of course, it can be changed but you will have to extend it over time because beans are a bit harder than peas.

      Kisses!

A question…. What about «left turn, spoon speed, for the previous Thermomix (21) would be the same as setting speed 1 ???
    You will tell me??
I can apply all the recipes with the thermomix 21, right?
    Thank you

    1.    Virtues said

Hello sable, speed 1 with the butterfly.

  13.   Maripaz said

Very good, they are super juicy, and that the peas are frozen !!! I really liked this recipe because until now I cooked the peas first on one side and the stir-fry on the other, and now I only send one thing and on top of it they are better! !!

    1.    Silvia said

The truth is that there are people who have not found the recipe very good that way but they drive me crazy !!

  14.   conchi said

Hello, can someone tell me if you can also make peas with ham in the thermomix t21, thank you.

  15.   Silvia said

Conchi, of course they can be done. The only thing you should put in the tm-21 is when I say: left turn, spoon speed. You put the butterfly on the blades with speed 1 and they will come out without falling apart.

    All the best

  16.   Anita said

Hello, this recipe reminds me of my mother, who made them …… ..ummmmmmm, to lick your fingers. The difference is that she made them to white wine, could you advise me how I could add this variant to give it that flavor? What if I tell you is that they were soupy.
Thank you very much for all your recipes and for this one in particular that I dedicate to my mother who is taking care of me from heaven. Mom, I love you !!!!

  17.   nina said

HI! What I do so that they are not so soupy is to reduce the amount of water to half and I put about ten more minutes to make them tender. This way we like it at home. Thank you for this wonderful blog.

    1.    Irene Thermorecetas said

Great suggestion Nina! It is true that there are people who take them drier, so thank you very much for this idea.
