Lentil dhal (lentil curry)

Today we are going to cook a dish inspired by Indian cuisine: red lentil curry. Below you can see the video of this version that we bring you is the simplest of all where the main ingredients that we are going to need to give it that special touch is the curry paste and coconut milk. They are the ones that are going to give us that characteristic flavor. Later we will publish a slightly more elaborate version of this same dish, delicious too!

We are going to use red lentil, they are lentils that are used a lot in the Middle East and that are very similar to the pardina lentil but that do not have skin and are more delicate and subtle. Therefore, we will not have to soak them and they will be cooked in 30 minutes. You can find it in many markets, supermarkets and herbalists.

Fortunately the coconut milk We can already find it in any supermarket, they sell it in 400 ml cans and we can use it for countless sweet and savory dishes. But, the truth is that it goes perfectly with curry.

La curry paste It is bought in specialized Asian food stores and, occasionally, in some large supermarkets they also sell sachets of curry paste in the international food section. Optionally, if you don't have curry paste or can't find it, you can substitute 1 tablespoon of curry powder.

We can accompany this dish with basmati rice or eat it directly with naan bread or chapati.
