Milk French toast

Milk torrijas, just saying them makes my mouth water. At home my mother always makes them for Easter.

There are many ways to do them with milk or wine, with honey or sugar and cinnamon. The shape and tastes vary in each town and house. This time I have made them with milk, in case the little ones wanted to try them.

You can already imagine… meeting friends in the field and, for that of varying a little and taking advantage of the typical recipes, I decided to make some milk torrijas, special for the little ones in the house.

The kids didn't even think to try them, but we did we gave a good account of them. So much so that the three that appear in the photo were the only ones left ... I can hardly even take photos of them.

I found a neighborhood supermarket that sell special bread for torrijas that comes in small squares. I love it even if they give me more work because I know it is the ideal size for children.

When I make torrijas, I use the milk with cinnamon and lemon that they sell in the store already made, so I make them faster and also when I have milk buns that have become a little hard or dry, I use them and they come out very good, It seems they have cream, I hope that if someone tries it, they like it.

They have to be very rich. I did them the other day at the Varoma. Like Cristina, I am also a new "cooks" and all advice and help comes great.

    A big kiss.

This is the recipe that has always been made in my house, what I have done is adapt it to the thermo. My mother usually makes them with wine, but when we were little she used to make them with milk, and now it's my turn to have a little one.

Hello!! I have also tried those of Varoma and I have to say that, although at first, when they told me I thought: «what a concoction», once the tests are very good ... And the best thing is that, since they are not fried, I suppose that will go better for the line 😉

Monica JP, the torrijas al varoma we also have published, these are adapted to the thermo, as we have always made the torrijas at home, and I put them fried, because it is another way of doing, and so there is more variety.

Good morning… and what a pint these French toast. I want to make them today for a snack, but I need to know where I can get the bread for torrijas, in a specific supermarket, in bakeries etc? Thank you and I'll tell you how they turned out ...

    Hello Virtues !!!

We could make them in the oven, like your Torrijas recipe, or because it is made from milk, it would not go well. They are so light that if they are not baked, I do not make them.

    Thank you

I have started to make it .. and the milk has come out, from the cooking… what a cloth, the kitchen has left me .. fatal .. I have put milk again, and it is cooked .. but looking at it…. Be careful, that if it cooks, it rises and comes out…. otherwise right now I'm going to pass the bread through the milk ... I hope they fit me well ... thank you ..
