Murcian pie

Murcian empanada

Look at the meat pies are delicious, but if they give me a choice, I'll stick with the murcian empanadas.

I don't know if you know them… I encourage you to do them at home. We will make the dough in a Thermomix with the advantage that it always comes out well. And the filling It goes raw (except for boiled eggs) so it can't be simpler.

If you are not from the area you have to know the gastronomy of the Murcia. It has no waste. In Thermorecetas we have already published the zarangollo and easter cakes. All great.

I love Murcian empanadas. They remind me of my childhood when we went to see my father's family. I'm sure I'll do it right away and I'll tell you about it. Hopefully you put the recipe for another Murcian delicacy which are the meat pies, the ones with the puff pastry rolled on top. Thank you for your wonderful recipes, they are all a success in my house

You'll see how good it looks, Isabel. About the cakes ... how delicious, right? But I think they are more complex than empanadas (I've seen how they make the top and it's an art). If I find the recipe, do not doubt that I will share it with you.
Thank you for your comment and for trusting us.
      A kiss!

Hello Gorgeous! Make the empanada, you'll see how delicious it is. Whenever I can, I get to your puddin.
      A kiss!

Hello Ascen, does not have any type of yeast? Thank you very much for all your delights

    1.    Ascen Jimenez said

      Hello Maria:
No, it does not contain yeast. The dough looks great without it, you'll see.
Thank you very much for your comment and for following us.
      Kisses!

Hello Ascen: this is the first time I comment on something. I was thinking of asking you about yeast but I see that you have answered it but I do not want to miss this opportunity to thank you for all your effort and your recipes. I have done a few and they have always been a success. Thanks.

Thank you very much Teresa. Comments like yours make us very proud of our "work." But the truth is that without you all this would not make sense.
      A kiss!

Hello Ascen, what fond memories of my childhood, when I had no problems or responsibilities, that's what my parents were for.
We used to spend the summer in the Dehesa de Campoamor, near San Pedro del Pinatar, there we used to go with my parents to a pastry shop called «La Peladilla», and we bought «Tocino de cielo», which was spectacular and «deer cake», this memory It tasted like you were eating it right now, it had a sweet dough, I think it's called «flora pasta», and the filling is salty, made from chicken and hard-boiled egg.
It would be great if you posted it on this blog.

By the way, congratulations on the blog, it's magnificent

      Hi Joaquin,
That cake I publish for sure. I have not lived in Murcia for years but, thanks to your message, I have ordered a doe cake to try it (coincidentally my husband has traveled to Murcia these days). As I am going to like it, the next step will be to do it at home and, the next, to publish it.
Thank you for your message. I loved it.
      Take care!

The Empanada is very tasty! I loved it, the dough is very easy and delicious !! As I am a vegetarian I have substituted the tuna for potatoes, which I have fried a bit, and I have added a little more quantity of everything else. Thank you!!

Great Peter, and great your adaptation. I have a lot of love for this pie 😉
      A hug, Ascen

I want to do it but I have a couple of doubts, the pepper is not cooked, is it added raw? And the peas, are they canned or boiled? Thanks

    1.    Ascen Jimenez said

      Hello Rocio,
In this case the pepper is put raw. It is cooked in the oven.
On the peas, I usually use canned ones but you can put boiled peas for yourself. Whatever you prefer.
I hope you like it 😉
      A hug!

    Hello!
I made this dough in the middle of the day and it came out very crunchy, although next time I will add a little less oil and the filling I have not dared to put it raw… .I have been very cowardly? but I have to do it and not be left with the doubt.
The Cierva cakes are difficult to find and you have to order them, but in Cartagena they make them riqiiiiuuiusimo sss ... kisses !!!!

Hehehe, that's why I wouldn't call you a coward! 🙂 but next time cheer up because it is well cooked, really.
I made the Cierva cake once in Thermomix but I don't think I got to publish the recipe. It was also very good although I am more into empanadas 😉
      A hug!
