This is a cake simple, with traditional ingredients and orange juice freshly squeezed. The "grace" it has is that it is served in a special way.

It is eaten with a spoon. Each one puts on his piece of cake that orange sauce that we did the other day. It is therefore a picnic (or breakfast) fun and intense flavor. A delight for lovers of sweets and citrus fruits.

Original and simple sponge cake with orange sauce made with Thermomix. With a splash of that sauce we turn a traditional sponge cake into a fun and delicious snack.

Ingredients

  • 120 g of sugar
  • 150 g butter at room temperature
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 200 g of pastry flour
  • 100 g of cornstarch
  • 1 sachet of backing powder
  • 50 g of fresh orange juice

Preparation

  1. We put the sugar and butter in the glass. We program 2 minutes, speed 3 1/2.

  2. Add the eggs and salt. We program 30 seconds, speed 4.

  3. Add the flour, cornstarch and yeast. We mix by programming 30 seconds, speed 5. We add the orange juice and program 20 seconds, speed 4.

  4. Butter a round mold with a hole in the middle of about 24 cm in diameter. Sprinkle a little flour over the butter. Add the mixture and bake at 180º for 15 minutes. Then we raise the temperature to 200º and bake for 10 more minutes.

  5. Unmold the cake when it is warm. We serve the sponge cake with the orange sauce

Notes

If we want to add the grated skin of an orange to the cake mass, we will add it together with the eggs and salt.
