It is already October 21 and Halloween is upon us. That is why today we present our first proposal: vermicelle alla puttanesca with funny mozzarella eyes.

I know that some of you like Halloween very much and that others cannot handle it… To make everyone happy, today's recipe is a very famous dish of Italian cuisine that you can make on any occasion. What of the mozzarella eyes is the idea that I give you to turn this recipe into a "terrifying" Halloween dish.

You can use "vermicelle" (smaller diameter of the spaghetti), another type of long pasta or short pasta, as long as you take into account the cooking time indicated on the package of the chosen pasta.

Ingredients

  • 1 garlic clove
  • 130 g pitted black olives
  • 30 g of anchovy fillets in oil
  • 20 g of extra virgin olive oil
  • 700 g of canned pear tomato (weight of pulp and liquid)
  • 100g capers (optional)
  • 1500 g of water for cooking the pasta
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 360 g pasta
  • Fresh parsley
  • Pepper

And for the eyes

  • 8 mozzarella balls (the small ones)
  • Some pitted black olives that we will cut into slices

Preparation

  1. Put the garlic, olives and anchovy fillets in the glass. We shred 5 seconds, speed 5.

  2. We add the olive oil and program 3 minutes, varoma temperature, speed 1.

  3. We chop the tomatoes and add them to the previous preparation, with part of the liquid. We program 12 minutes, 100º, left turn, speed 1. We reserve in a large bowl.

  4. Without having to wash the glass, we put the water and salt in it. We program 11 minutes, 100º, speed 1, to bring to a boil.

  5. We add the pasta and cook it time indicated on the package, 100º, left turn, spoon speed. At the end of the time we check that it is "al dente". We drain it with the help of the varoma container and put it in the bowl, with the sauce.

  6. Add the parsley and pepper and mix everything well.

  7. We serve immediately.

  8. If we want it to be a dish for Halloween, we prepare the eyes by placing a slice of pitted black olive on each mozzarella ball.

Notes

We can cook the pasta in a saucepan if we want to have the recipe ready in less time. In this way we will cook the pasta while we prepare the sauce.[br]Depending on the diners, you can add more or less pepper. You can even do without it if it is for the little ones.[br]The original recipe has less tomato (500 g).
