Salted chicken

Today I bring you one of my latest discoveries. It is a simple chicken breast that will have a very intense flavor and that will get us out of more than one trouble. In addition, it is a good way to replace the industrial sausages that they sell (out of curiosity, look at the ingredients that a mere York ham or turkey breast brings ...), for completely homemade and healthy food.

You can preserve in oil for at least 5 days (even freeze) and use as if it were sausage: with mayonnaise on bread it is great (it is one of my usual mid-morning breakfasts when I am at work). Or simply on toast bread for dinner, a delight! And also for hot days, it can also be eaten cold in salads. As you can see, it has a multitude of uses.

I have not put amounts in some ingredients because it is not necessary, just use the amount, in this case of coarse salt and oil, which you need.

      Hi Vincent! Thank you so much. What I do is put them separated and tied each half with the string. But if you want you can put half, it's the same. Freeze well huh?       Hello Carlos, welcome! A chicken breast is made up of two pieces (half breasts). We will buy 1 whole breast from the butcher that we will divide in half into two half breasts.     It is the first time that I cook something with salt. I made the breasts last night. As it was late and they were not getting cold to remove the salt, I left them as is and took it off this morning. They are well done, however, they are very salty !! I guess it's because you don't have to wait that long to remove the salt, right?

      Hello Elvira, indeed. The brisket absorbed a lot of salt throughout the night. You have to remove the salt as soon as it has cooled down a bit, enough not to burn you. The outside is salty, but the inside is just right. As it is cut into thin slices, there is little salty surface and the whole is balanced. Too bad, but don't throw it away, cut it very thin and use it to make a rice salad like this . Of course, put little salt on the rice. And try it again, surely the next time it will be delicious.         No, I wasn't going to throw it away, hehe. Yesterday I made a vegetable salad with a little mayonnaise and no salt and I added bits of the "tasty" breast and it turned out very well.
